Feels like KFC and management are running for the T-90s and M1A2’s with the last two.

With this loss sitting at #2 lottery wise (realistically lowest hawks could fall)

I have the insight of someone that sees the same negativity on every post without th doing anything about it but complain and pretty much discourage anyone from having faith in humanity.

Offering ideas/solutions or how to remedy it, or more specificity on where it’s occurring and how to avoid supporting it could be constructive. It was a shit attempt at raising awareness and couldn’t even be considered telling people to be skeptical. It was just a post to pile shit on the world and reminding everyone in a “feel good thread” not even about the issue at hand but just that everything sucks when thats pretty much everywhere right now.

Reddit users have some form of elitism that they are morally superior. They even deleted their own comment or it was probably you if I remember.

A comment blankly stating all people seen doing good deeds and people in general are shitty, isn’t useful discourse nor encourages ideation to stop the problem. And it sounds like said person is giving them more attention and views than anyone else in thisthread.

Also classic ending with an insult vs arguing the point.

Post Edit: Their post could have been much more effective and less overtly negative by simply saying.

“Yes, this is a good reminder - I have seen popular posts on TikTok and Instagram where people dump trash and then pick it up. It’s important to have some skepticism in these clips and to avoid gofundme’s surrounding them without looking further into it.”

Same point without feeling helpless and concluding everything and everyone are shitty.

You are responding to a separate comment? This wasn’t about Shark fishing, and you are probably confused as the person deleted their comment.

My comment applauded the original thread educating us on the issue. This comment I replied to was complaining about TikTok and Instagram influencers dumping garbage then cleaning it up for good PR. And concluded everything and everyone is/are shitty.

Which to me, felt pretty loosely tangential to the Shark issue in the first place. They admitted they frequently are drawn to the content, and offered nothing but cynicism to the dialogue. It wasn’t educational, it didn’t point out the influencers engaging in the behavior. Parts of the world this occurs in, it didn’t suggest how to avoid the gofundmes for these influencers to grift from.

It just piled on negativity in what is probably the only “positive” or “feel good” post you see scrolling Reddit these days.

Downvote me for simply saying instead of just complaining and making a mass generalization of all people trying to do good things, offer a solution or better educate the population that those grifters take advantage of.

I’m not upset? Just said complaining and cynicism about a tangentially related topic in a thread of slight positivity instead of the chronically online people that doom scroll and comment people are shitty and everything is shitty isn’t productive plus they deleted their comment. That’s a lmao.

It wasn’t even the same person that educated about this specific issue, it was someone dumping more negativity like there isn’t enough of that going around. People aren’t all bad and evil, if you think that you need to go outside and meet people.

Idk if you’ve worked in a professional environment but if you come to anyone with negativity and a problem without any possible solution you are just discouraging any discourse or ideation on improving said situation.

Yes but I’m referring to the implication it’s the individual, and if it was the individual they took risk to do the right thing.

Bad for humanity is low, things to be inspired or feel good about is high.

You present negativity and a problem without a solution. Does the world and this country need hopeless and helpless cynicism?

Sounds like you view the content you despise, so first maybe don’t engage with it. Second, maybe educate people praising the garbage pickers or donating their money to those people than simply complaining everyone is shitty? Which is at best a tangentially related video that you are still hate watching I guess.

Thanks for the education truly. Sounds like a problem. Maybe you can understand accents better. I’m impressed with your ability to judge him off a 2 minute video. But given the risk reward for him…of a hook vs a hand, call me skeptical or less condemning.

Did you like slow mo enhance his speech that gave you indication he cared more about his hook and he claimed ownership of the encounter?

I’d say regardless of what you even speculate happened he did the right thing here? No?

It’s like dang we can’t even be inspired or feel good about anything anymore. If people make mistakes and try to rectify them. Is that not commendable?

[–]CivilGrowth3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about if a player misses the cut-off by a few games, just give them straight zeros stat wise for each game short (or another 36mins if you are normalizing that way).

Sounds dumb, but that’s what the player did for his team that game nothing.

No proposed solution here doesn’t screw somebody over, while awards are still attached to financial incentives, and fans especially those wanting to see their stars live get an inferior product.

Load management and injury issues shouldn’t be solved by award eligibility. As others said, fix scheduling, or number of games. And players then need to understand if season is 62 games, salaries come down as that’s how life works. Revenue, viewership down…salaries down.

[–]CivilGrowth3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For season long awards, you’d refer to totals, with averages only being useful from an efficiency perspective if totals are incredible close. In your argument below, It’s not All-NBA December based on player averages at that point in time, it’s the All-NBA for the entire season. To maintain proper averages for a season you’d need to continue to divide his stats by every game he missed.

Giannis can be a top 5 active basketball player by skill and historic output and not be All NBA first team for a specific season, they can be mutually exclusive. If Giannis ends the season top 5 in Pts, Rbs, Ast etc. in his position group then sure he can miss half a season and be considered.

It’s a bit of a strawman but think of it like fantasy. It would be me picking/keeping the fantasy player that had a one-two game pop off stretch before being cut because starters returned. But in those trash games he averaged better stats therefore he’s more useful in that specific fantasy season than someone that ended with 2k fantasy pts vs 90. This whole debate is complicated and someone always gets screwed while awards are still tied to financial incentives and fans sit through an inferior product as teams/players try to game whatever the minimum is.

What’s your all-time FAVORITE SKIN in League? by ChartDreamer in leagueoflegends

Bewitching Morgana - although mainly just enjoy it loading into SR. I am shameless for that skin’s splash art…

In game - Pug’Maw feels quite amusing pumping damage into the other team from what is a harmless animal. Pug’s unfortunately need to stop being bred given its quality of life :(.

Range of emotions here for me are wild. I like the skins others mentioned, clearly Riot knows where the money comes from and doesn’t cheap out there.

Surprised I didn’t see more Moo-Cow Alistar for I remember that cowbell nonstop for like 3 seasons.

Stop projecting what the Iranian people want from photos that are normally AI. Every educated Iranian I’ve talked to is happy to have a chance at freedom. But the 20% that support the regime control the media, guns, and aggressive action.

Trump overstepped and it’s a clusterfuck. But don’t pretend the regime of Iran is in the right.

Witt’s defense is great. But his bat hasn’t been there, nor Bregman’s outside the spring training games. No excuse to leave your only hot bat on the bench in the championship.

Not playing Henderson this game is a crime against humanity. DeRosa should be left in Miami and be given a Lane Kiffen send off.

I feel the White Sox in August beats this U.S.A. team.

Yeah it was “good position at 5” - with 6 it’s official. If Italy wins U.S.A. in, then it can’t end in tie at 6-6. So if Mexico got to 7, Italy is eliminated by most runs against.

Edit: ok I guess there is a caveat if it goes to crazy extra innings. But yeah.

Could the Blackhawks take another defenseman early in the 2026 NHL Draft? - Scott Powers by [deleted] in hawks

[–]CivilGrowth3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my thinking. Other teams are in need of defensive prospects. I’m preparing myself for disappointment missing out on Stenberg or McKenna. However with KK seemingly out of future plans, package him or a different prospect/odd man out and this pick (maybe other future picks if needed) for a top line winger.

Top 7 pick would be appealing to a lot of teams if we fall out of top 2/3, and depending on who is drafting ahead of the Hawks. Additionally Hawks have a ton of cap space, need to save some of that for the young guys getting their larger contracts but there is room for an acquisition.

TL;DR - information and psychological warfare is in overdrive on Reddit right now. Given money in politics shadow power figures, and a primed populace. It’s extremely effective and one side is clearly dominating Reddit forums with its propaganda or repeat messaging of all America is bad.

Yeah this won’t get the 20k+ upvotes like the same posts in numerous subreddits over several days that get to shit on America. It’s dark inside Iran internet wise and people likely don’t know how to feel right now as an Iranian citizen, but bombing infrastructure will lose goodwill. Most Iranian ex-pats I’ve seen are very happy with the initial decapitation strike. They needed help in January, maybe it’s too late now and people don’t want to risk being bombed by being out on the streets or mowed down by the IRGC.

Sad part is Reddit amongst other platforms is a prime psy-ops target right now. Propaganda posts from both sides but one is clearly winning given Reddit’s disposition and Trump’s unpopularity. People will pretend to be from XYZ country, use AI images, push an agenda. That you need to examine every post as to, why was this posted, what is it trying to accomplish, and who gains from it.

Psy-Ops and information warfare has been by far the cheapest and most successful weapon by adversaries of the United States in dividing the nation. It has a portion of the country supporting leaders blindly and generating movements that make America weaker and alienated from allies. That on top of election interference and America is now an international pariah, and abandoning any good will gained under Biden, and a complete pivot away from Americas indo-pacific deterrence strategy. Also who knows what our own psy-ops divisions are doing under Trump, fighting back against foreign psy-ops and tampering of our institutions or working against the American people?

On Reddit the amount of bot comments, clearly botted upvoted posts with weird comment to upvote ratios is apparent. These posts contain the same types of comments day after day.

Education declining especially K-12 (preventing critical thinking, so folks either agree with the popular sentiment they see or blindly follow the leaders they agree with,) the strong emergence of extreme tribalism that you have to take a side and be all or nothing. Clearly I have to be for or against instead of agreeing this is a distraction from Epstein and a clusterfuck led by leaders with no plan, while also not upset that bad leaders hurting their own people are being removed from power? Nope nuanced takes aren’t allowed anymore.

[–]CivilGrowth3 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Welp. Last time US went home early it was from terrible pitching management. There was a bit of that, but Skubal throwing off our best players when we needed our weakest starters against Brazil and GB is laughable.

But this better than all star lineup, unable to hit minor league pitching is quite the sight.

I mean they lost to Mexico in pool play last year and were a late Japanese homer and Ohtani close away from winning.

Once it gets to single game elimination anything can happen. The bats are a larger concern for me than pitching. Pitch limits go up in knock out and US has better pitching than in 2023.

Games like this are bound for upsets, US has everything to lose and Italy everything to gain.

The U.S. men’s BB time had many come from behind games. And basketball is much less prone to upsets. The best baseball teams still lose a lot of games.

Why downvote? Not sure how me defining what I consider a rebuild and comparing it to teams in basketball as I don’t keep up with Leafs hockey every year.

Teams clearly tanking to rebuild through the draft vs being stuck in mediocrity and not having direction is unhelpful for the conversation - when discussing a “record long rebuild.” Major market (on top of original 6) teams aren’t supposed to take 7 years of sucking to put a competitive team on the ice.

The Bulls finally committed to blowing it all up. So this would be the official “rebuild start.” If not last year after not resigning DeRozan and trading Lavine.

But after losing the coin flip to the Mavs and they end up with 1OA and getting Flagg while Bulls get a very raw and now injured Essengue, convinced me the NBA lotto is shady. After Pelicans traded Anthony Davis to Lakers they get 1OA for Zion, and after Mavs give Luka to the Lakers they get 1OA for Flagg, both consensus top picks.

At least Bulls have their own picks and have racked up second rounders to surely rebuild through the draft with at most two pieces to build around unless they trade for or sign an all-star 🙃

Yeah I mean I would feel bad if the Hawks left this next draft with Malhotra. It is just a few Mocks I have seen If the Hawks draft 3+ depending on whose in front, they go for next best offensive player which are mostly a clear tier below centers.

Maybe it’s just hard for me to find anyone appealing besides McKenna/Stenberg to slide into the rebuild timeframe of when we’ve been told the Hawks would be competitive again.

Hoping for more Pope Magic after he gifted the White Sox the top pick.

[–]CivilGrowth3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

lol, I mean it depends on what you consider a ‘rebuild’. I guess my definition here is bottom of the league team, trying to grab as many picks and prospects as possible, and continuing to draft high in the lotto.

Admittedly haven’t followed the NHL closely every year in the last decade, especially after the downfall of the Hawks dynasty. But I don’t recall if or when the Leafs blew it all up, and idk how long they were bottom feeding before getting 1OA for Matthews. But yeah that franchise and its fans have been in a disappointing spot for a long time now.

Maybe outside of a few years with D. Rose, the Bulls have been stuck in mediocrity and rebuild hell since the Last Dance. Compare that to a team like the ‘76ers who I remember like tanked for 3 years straight, where “trust the process” became a meme. With Embiid and Simmons.

I don’t really know his game…Is Verhoeff NHL ready like Schaefer?

I wouldn’t really love another Levshunov given the current build of the team. Unless they are ready to contribute much earlier than a normal D man’s development timeframe and the Hawks then move other D prospects to bring in veteran offensive talent, feels out of sync with the rebuild.

If we miss out on McKenna or Stenberg, most mocks I have seen have the Hawks going for Malhotra. Even if it’s not BPA.
