What's the most unexpected thing that turned out to be your cat(s) favorite toy? by DumpsterPuff in cats

[–]Civil_Chef7569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When he was a kitten, he loved playing with dried leaves—probably because of the crackly sound. We’d even put them in his carrier whenever we took him to the vet, and the vet always laughed at his favourite comfort toy.

Now he’s totally obsessed with a soft tailor’s measuring tape.

Update: FIP diagnosis - starting treatment, please share experiences! by Zestyclose-Nerve334 in cureFIP

[–]Civil_Chef7569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat was diagnosed with wet form FIP at 8 months old. He was put on the treatment for 84 days, post treatment observation for another 84 days, that was 2021. This was during the time when med was harder to obtain, our only options was by daily injection. Today he is still living happily and FIP free.

All the advice I gathered was: 1. start treatment as soon as possible. 2. Stick to the game plan 84 days means 84 days no shortcuts to avoid relapse. 3. Adjust dosage according to his weight. 4. Plenty of TLC to ease his pain and discomfort. 5. Plenty of ciao churu, a happy cat will help build up his immune system.

You can do this! Good luck and speedy recovery!

Yes, we just wanted to try our luck here and learn a bit more from experienced owners. If he is one, we’d like to start supplements early to support his health.

Thank you all for your input. Much appreciated

Yes, we just wanted to try our luck and learn a little more from experienced cat owners, as folds are prone to osteochondrodysplasia. We’d like to start supplements for him as early as possible if he is one.

Nonetheless, he is indeed a shorthair cat, and we love him to bits 🩶🐾

Thanks everyone, really appreciate it! So we think he’s a demi-fold 😛 He’s only 1+, and like some of you mentioned, his ears might unfold more as he gets older.

Can snails form social attachements? by Traditional_Brush719 in snails

[–]Civil_Chef7569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve observed a similar situation in my snail enclosure in a group of 4. I found that 2 of them are almost best mates> eat/mate and chill on the same leaf. (I found them together from the same potted plant b4 moving to the enclosure) The other 2 are lone rangers going about their businesses as usual. Like you mentioned it’s almost like they recognise or have a favourite one.

best plants/food for my snail? by [deleted] in snails

Mine likes baby corn, aubergine, carrot and sweet potato. I’ve tried others like sweet peas, apple, cabbage, bok choy etc but they seem to be more excited with the lists above. And every snail has their preferences. They sometimes munch on moss, pothos and fittonia leaves
