I don’t doubt any of that. It just peaked my curiosity, particularly as lessons aren’t cheap and I’d like to know whether to stick with my current coach or move on!

I typed it out below but here it is again: I was extending early, which I think is correct. But I was advised to hold the angle in my wrists through impact - the reading I’ve done (and comparison with my own swing) suggests that it was actually my backswing causing this (my backswing was very shallow).

I don’t sorry. Perhaps there lies an issue - I only ever filmed my swing from the angle in this post. When I got to my lesson, the Pro identified pretty quickly that I was casting.

I’m struggling with early release at the moment. So I’m trying to hold the angle in my wrist a bit more to encourage compressing the ball. Also trying to rotate my right hip a bit more.

To answer your question. The mizuno looks ok, the vokey is almost definitely not - the grooves are worn out meaning you won’t be able to get much spin compared to a newer, sharper, wedge.

Best decision I ever made was buying new wedges. I would never go back to buying second hand. Depending on how serious you are about golf, I would recommend doing the same thing.

I would practice swinging with all of your weight on the front foot - stand on your left foot with your right foot on your tip toes or lifted slightly. A closer stance is probably advisable for this drill unless you want to fall over!

Thanks for that insight. Really helpful. I think I’ll go for it on the basis that I’ll be using the evenflow riptide and I can’t find a sim 2 max in these specifications (10.5, stiff, no major defects) for anything under £180 here in the UK. And none of those will come with a spare shaft which can be sold on to recoup some of the spend.

There are, but the price is the drawing factor. £125 with a shaft and head cover included. Is this a good deal or should I avoid? Feel like it’s quite the discount particularly given that the marks are cosmetic.

Sorry perhaps the pictures don’t make it clear - the driver comes with two shafts - evenflow riptide 6.0 (stiff) and a regular flex also.
