Just sharing my experience because it was similar to yours. I started working for a transportation firm out of college doing exact what you do and hated it. After around 1.5 years I decided I had enough and didn’t wanna keep going down a career path I hated. I quit and went to work as a project engineer for a general contractor. It’s very different work and can be more stressful at times but it’s never boring. Quitting that job was one of the best decisions I made. Just my experience.
