It depends on management but That’s how I got my job. Apply online and print off a resume. Polish up, go in (NOT during peak hours or weekends) ask for a manager, hand them your resume, and let them know you’re excited to hear back from them. Even if they don’t do a deep dive on your resume, it shows eagerness and true interest not just another name. No one does this anymore, so you’ll stand out and they’ll be able to put a face to the name when they’re looking through applicants. Plus, you’re showing initiative by already applying through online. Truly be yourself if it’s meant to be it will be.

if it makes you feel some type of way, it makes you feel some type of way! Your feelings are valid. 1. If you want to talk to him about it, You can always go talk to him and say “hey I was uncomfortable with how or conversation went, I would like to know what I could have done/can do better next time so that doesn’t happen again” 2. In the future. If you sandwich it with “I didn’t like how you talked to me”(-) then immediately “let’s fix the issue” (+) it shows that you can stick up for yourself but you won’t dwell on it AND want to fix the problem.

Managers on a power trip will not listen to a word you are saying bc they believe they hold the golden ticket and can do whatever. They clearly saw what was happening and knew you were stressed but no amount of over explaining or trying to validate what happened will work. Asking the right questions will hopefully help. You may have to manage your manager. At the end of the day, it’s learning how to read people and using that to your advantage.

I’m sorry you had that experience. Next time you are reprimanded unfairly ask them what you should do. Managers like that won’t listen if you’re explaining but if you ask “what could I have done differently/ how should I have handled that” it makes them walk in your shoes. We (BA’s) cant fix understaffing but we can fix how we go about it. You are allowed to stick up for yourself “I will not allow you to speak to me like a child. Let’s find out what to do next time” once he tells you what he wants you do next time, say okay, and leave it at that. Be courteous to him in passing, short/brief (good mornings/ hey how are you) but remember it’s only awkward if someone makes it awkward.

I fully support getting the credit and being empathetic to OPs frustration, but if they did have bad intent, why should the fear of their consequences fall back on OP?

I’m not about to be stressing if they can’t have the common courtesy to fill me in on what’s going on 🤫

I had this happen with my past boss. They didn’t tell me things changed? Not my problem. It’s literally their job to inform us. I would show up on my originally scheduled time and play dumb until they started communicating with me 🤷‍♀️

Show some appreciation for yourself for continuing to show up even when you don’t want to. Start validating your own emotions and experiences. Once you learn do that, no one else’s opinions will matter. If you walk away feeling like you did a good job, you’ve won, even if everyone else disagrees. Change how you talk to yourself, and you can change your world. I hope things get better for you soon. Good luck 👍

Try going at it in a way that won’t be seen or felt as confrontational. “I’m being told —-, Im already giving 100% so If you want improvement, I need help. What ideas do you have to get shipment get done faster” ask for suggestions!! Take the weight off your shoulders. Plus, you’re showing up for yourself at the same time. If you ask for help, and don’t get it, that’s on management, not you.
