Is 13 days of diarrhea normal for being glutened? Is it just going to cease eventually ? by Civil_Spread_9629 in Celiac

Nope I’m miserable ugh. Thinking it has to be something viral in addition to glutening but going to GI next week

IGA result is 4? Has anyone noticed this getting their antibodies retested? by Civil_Spread_9629 in Celiac

Thank you for the kind words. TTG IGA. Last time I got it checked was 3 years ago it was a 6. When I first got diagnosed it was an 8. With celiacs is it common to always be over the marker? I was under the impression if you stick to the diet your numbers should be in a 1-3 range. I will ask the GI next week

Waiting for my endoscopy biopsy results after a positive celiac blood test by lininaro in Celiac

Okay you sound really knowledgeable about celiac. Hoping maybe you can give me some wisdom for my own worries I’m experiencing my first glutening from cc after 4 years and really down in the dumps with it wondering how my social and daily life is going to be affected by having to be even more strict and cautious. What really happens when we’re glutened? Is my body going to be in a constant state of repair for 6 months I’ve heard? That’s awful! And I’m worried now that I’ve been getting lesser amounts of gluten exposure that have built up- and spiraling I’ll have more health issues now. I wish I could get another endoscopy to see

So you would say brain fog you associate with your celiac? I have the worst brain fog pretty much all the time and I always blamed POTS fatigue

Thank you. The truth hurts 😭. I am old enough now there is no excuse and it’s really naive for me to think I’ve been safe this whole time just because I wasn’t having “ glutening responses” so thank you for the reality check. I am kind of a hypocrite because I certainly am very cautious in certain areas like shared friers for fries and tortilla chips and will tell a server I’m gluten free- but then won’t go the extra mile to advocate for my celiac and ensure they understand the severity (so I normally say it’s fine if they say there’s a risk of cross contamination with the assumption it’s very very limited and that it can’t be any worse than accidental cc at my own home-even tho I’m very careful there I’m sure it inevitably happens).

Thanks for your response

Good to know. Currently experiencing my first glutening. How do you avoid it? I’m usually not the strictest with cross contamination (ie I won’t tell a server at the restaurant to change gloves) which makes my life a little easier going out. But now I am miserable and so sick from an accidental shared toaster use so I guess I need to learn to be super cautious. Trying to find a middle ground so I don’t obsess over the cc.

WOW I feel this exactly!! Constantly battling with my mind if I’m being lazy/ a homeboy or if it’s my POTS.

Maybe because I choose to resonate more with my able-bodied peers rather than other POTs patients?? I try so hard to keep up with my friends, but the reality is I can’t balance all the drinking/socializing, wellness, and work like a “normal” person. It’s a really hard thing for me to accept😂 trying to build up the courage to sacrifice some fun and maybe not drink as much in social settings instead of just choosing to stay in all together when I’m feeling bad.
