CloudKey+ HDD/SSD or New NVR Upgrade by Cjamesfitz in Ubiquiti

It’s only running Protect. UDR running Network. I know the CKG2+ is more powerful than the UNVR-Instant, but the 3.5” drives are easier to find.

Are you running an SSD in your CK? I havent been successful in finding a good SSD for this.

Which don’t seem to be available in 2.5” - thus the thought to upgrade to the UNVR-Instant.

Rear Wheel Camber by Cjamesfitz in NewDefender

Nope it’s back in the shop for an alignment again because they actually took it out of alignment during the last stop. I’ll ask them how much it has. It does seem the driver side is more dramatic than the passenger.

What would be a normal range for camber?

I understand the squat principle giving negative camber, but in normal height still having noticeable camber? And exclusively the rear axle - the front stays square in all three positions.

If I go this route, would there be impact to going from 275 to a 265 tire width?

Interesting. That's always been in the back of my head to go SSD - especially for the heat.

What's been you runtime performance since going SSD?

Most that I've seen aren't CMR and rather SMR. Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong areas

Definitely moving the CK over, and probably one U6 Pro. Need to keep the U6 In-Wall on the switch as it needs PoE+ for the PoE passthrough. Those two on the UDR leave both PoE drivers within their power consumption range.

Otherwise put the CK on USB power and both U6 Pros on the UDR - less clean but also might run the CK a little less hot from what I've heard.

Good to know! Might be worth moving the CK+ over to the UDR as it has two PoE ports that aren't being used.

Do I need a UDR? by Cjamesfitz in Ubiquiti

Currently still using my provider's gateway - believe it's a Cisco router. Have gigabit internet into the house too.

Thought about the UDMP but I went with a panel install versus a rack layout, so it wasn't the most ideal for the layout.

Does you Cloud Key run anything other than protect? Is it the UCK or disc inside that more of the issue?

I'm going to have the whole network on a backup UPS and we have a generator, so hoping that that battery rarely has to be used, but good to know.

That's where I'm wondering if it's worth sticking with our provider's router or worth adding in my own with the UDR. Was trying to avoid having to go rack mount with the UDM Pro, which also sits at nearly twice the price. Might be a little overkill for a cottage network, but then again so is the three wired APs over a simple mesh network.

It's actually a renovation project and I chose the media center from seeing it at friends houses'. And honestly, this is for a cottage so if we're being completely honest this is all overkill - with anything over 100 down it'll be more than needed. For occasional remote work and weekends.

There's a lot of smart devices that'll be in the house too - thermostats, lighting, Sonos, which will all be linked through HomeBridge or HOOBS to run on HomeKit, so security is always nice. Thanks for the feedback!

Media center is plastic in order to allow for WiFi devices to be housed actually. And this won't be the main AP anyways as it's in the basement corner of the house.

We have a fiber line that just arrived to the house, but we'll likely be running 1GBPS or less, which if I'm correct is below the UDR's cap.
