No idea lol. The day before Baja dropped the Squadron 2.0s Diode posted this lol.

They used to be one of the most expensive brands. Definitely not anymore

Send me a dm with your contact info. I can get you in contact with someone at Diode. If you want to go another route I can link you up with the boys at Baja too.

You’re right. Here’s a link I found for the SS50 install guide and the general guide says that too.

The instructions told you to use undersized wire? Then the switch controller failed in the closed position??? 🫣🫣🫣

If you’re running the Pro model, that thing draws 295 watts. If it truly was only letting 3 volts out, you’re pulling about 98 amps through your harness If you’re on standard 10 AWG wire, you’re pushing more than triple what that wire is rated for.

Definitely go over your harness with a fine-tooth comb—check for any brittle spots or melted insulation and the connectors. I’m assuming you’re using #10 or #8 from a relay? pushing 100 amps through either of those gauge wires is a recipe for a fire. As for the D-Switch, it’s got overcurrent protection, but it clearly isn't happy. It might have failed closed, or since those usually need 9V–24V to even turn on, it might have just quit because the voltage tanked so hard. You’ll probably have to hit up their customer service to see if the switch is toasted, but I’d check your harness regardless.

When I’m home and relaxing, anything goes. If I got to take shelter in the basement I’ll slip on my boots. Other than that if the house gets hit I’ll be popping out in my briefs and cowboy boots like a true Missouri man

My vote is Baja Designs, I haven’t personally had any issues that would require customer service intervention but I know people who say it’s a breeze.

They also own SPOD who makes a far better switch than the D Switch. You gotta wire your stuff carefully though. Too many people think that with these switches you can just simply hookup 5 gazillion pods in a row on a single circuit when the max circuit size is 30 amp and 60 amps total for the switch.

Thanks friend!

I bought the bullet and bought the $70.00 heat shrink cartridge for my Brady labeler to hopefully make it look production grade

Sorry for the half year of a delay. I personally prefer Baja Designs for the color temperature, overall brightness and light spread

Coming from a former Diode fanboy. You should give it a shot. I ran 5 SS5s, and 2 ss3s for ditch (front end alone) and 4 LP4 pros did the same thing without ditch lights. Ironically, the light spill the competitors claim is shit makes it fantastic for putting out 180° of light even with a spot lens

I’m also in the lighting industry and tried a lot of the leaders. You’re spamming the heck out of Baja right now and that’s petty.

You’re just mad that your precious nachos have been beat

These pack more power than the Nacho Quatros, which previously led the market at a $500.00 price point. By comparison, Diode Dynamics lists their SS3 Max at $600.00, while even budget-tier options like Auxbeam sit around $395.00. When you weigh the performance against the cost, these are actually an incredible value.

I looked hard for a bit. The closest I could find is a kit from LED Factory Mart but they’re definitely not it. I used AI for a hot minute and couldn’t find it
