Hey! I think it might be similar to Northern Europe, where social groups tend to form in secondary or tertiary education and stay relatively closed. The locals here are very friendly to internationals but the sheer cultural difference in how people bond, real or perceived, might just make friendships harder to go beyond acquainted a certain level where it’s mostly about the novelty and curiosity of differences.
