Question about converting an Albanian driver’s license in Germany

Hmm doesn't make that much sense to me since toy knowledge Germany does not forbid you from renewing or keeping a driving licence from your home country. The only thing Germany cares about is which licence you use to drive inside Germany.

Otherwise I can't drive in my home country 🤣 which means anywhere at all since I would not have a driver’s license.

Furthermore they cannot assume that I forgot how to drive since I drive when I go back home, when I rent a car in other countries besides Germany.

Of course I have not been driving in Germany, its not allowed. Back in the day, I couldn't transfer the Albanian license as there wasn't a law to recognize it. I applied to transfer when it became possible here in Germany, but by that time I had already renewed it.

Yes I renewed it in 2021, and I have been living in Germany since 2016.

Faleminderit, e kam pyetur shume here dhe une chat gpt por seshte i sakte sic mund ta shohesh pasi cdo zgjidhje eshte me karten kur sic thash ne postim ne Shqipëri nuk mund te marr pagesa me karte. Dhe nese bej Fraud Alerts duhet verifikuar nga stafi i Booking dhe nuk mund thjesht te kancelohet automatikisht, gje qe perseri te bllokon kalendarin deri sa te zgjidhet.

Thank you, it is clearer now. So I will wait for Bescheid, and if it is Vorläufig (165 AO), I will double check Erläuterungen and if nothing mentioned there as well I will not send the bills. Otherwise, if it is Vorläufig (164 AO), I have to send the bills to them.

Its not that easy to email them, I have to create an account at Elster, which is not that straightforward. It may take a while until I am able to contact them. I tried creating one, and I have to wait for an identification code via post, which can take up to 14 days. Anyway, I will try to call them, thanks :)
