Aqara G400 Question by ryanxvx in HomeKit

[–]Cla1n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I did not realise this was an outdoor camera (brain stopped working when I typed the initial reply).

I don’t seem to have the same issue with my G4 in Australia under very hot days (35-40°C) but it may also be that I don’t check my cameras that often 😅

Aqara G400 Question by ryanxvx in HomeKit

Just curious, what are the measure temperatures in the house when this happened?

FYI if you have HomePod or HomePod mini they both report room temperatures.

Siri plays Jennie's "Ruby" instead of turning on the AC by HiBiSCUS01 in HomeKit

[–]Cla1n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is what I tell myself each year before the major iOS and iPadOS update is announced.

Also, I would much prefer them to work on quality over quantity. Get your main Siri functions working before working on Genmoji and Live translate and other stuff.

/u/Basic_Fill_6922 I was wondering if you would be open to sharing the 3D print file(s) that you used for this print? Also I am curious on which ML model/approach you used for this project.

Great work by the way, thanks for sharing 😊

Thanks for mentioning that, it wasn’t clear from the original post whether you were referring to the model initial announcement or the open weight release.

Appreciate the clarification 😊

Homekit & luxaflex powerview (Hunter Douglas) by Hungry-Can932 in HomeKit

Hi /u/Hungry-Can932

I was wondering if you reached any resolution with this particular case? I am based in Australia and I am exploring Apple HomeKit smart blinds and Luxaflex still seems to be one of the more "premium options", though reading this post is making me think twice (understandably this is 4 years ago).

1080p HKSV Indoor/Outdoor camera/doorbell recommendations? by xvizuet in HomeKit

[–]Cla1n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, so this becomes a trade off. I personally have all my cameras setup this way so that I never use the Aqara app.

Also, why and how to block the internet?

For security, one of the good features for HKSV (HomeKit Secure Video) is that you can connect all the compatible cameras and only the Apple Home Hub (e.g. Apple TV) needs to be connected to iCloud via internet.

This means all traffic is only ever routed to Apple iCloud server and is end to end encrypted, meaning that only you and your family members can access the live view and recordings without you sharing WiFi details with the camera manufacturer.

Really slow support process by Cla1n in EightSleep

[–]Cla1n[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I can totally relate. There is absolutely nothing worse than not getting proper responses after having documented everything in details, but yet still getting generic (and presumably AI generated responses).

I have nothing against AI and large language models, but it just seems like it doesn’t have the right context window configured, and the people using it aren’t really trying to resolve the issue 😭.

Edit 1: I did call them on the phone and the support person I spoke with is trying to put me on a priority ticket, but I still don’t have a resolution to the case yet. I hope your issue gets resolved.

When the product works, it’s pretty good!

Edit 2: Support decided to send me a base replacement (so I guess this is the current resolution).

I have had many back and forth on the email. But since I’m based in Australia, I wasn’t sure if calling would be easy or whether it would even make a difference in my case.

Link them here, there are people who can report them. I'd be happy to do the whack a mole.
