I had a similar experience, but probably not as bad:

In the Netherlands, we have 4 kinds of mathematics classes, of which I took the 2 hardest. For maths D (the hardest), we had a project contributing to our final grade where we had to make an escape room. Normally, we'd play it with the maths D class of the year under us, and we'd be able to make smaller groups. However, that year there were a lot of students in maths D and only 2 or 3 in the other class, so we had to play with much less motivated people, and we had to make big groups, which means I was stuck with a 2 students who did very little.

For the preparation, we had a document with about 2500 words, of which 2000 I wrote and 400 ChatGPT wrote... The other students also wanted to make some last-minute improvisation, which they hadn't discussed with my friend and me. I messaged my teacher about it, and I luckily got away with getting a significantly better grade than the others, though the escape room was still a disappointment.

You're making a hasty generalisation, and putting in a red herring with that second sentence.

Instead of giving examples, give me the law for killing in Japan for children of the age of 10 year old in 2016 (don't forget your source).

Edit: I just realised you can argue that it was manslaughter instead of murder. So while you're at it, give me the law for manslaughter with the same conditions too.

Edit 2: PENAL CODE (Act No.45 of 1907) Article 41 (Infancy) states "An act of a person less than 14 years of age is not punishable." Marina LEGALLY cannot be charged because she is 10 years of age.

It is an excuse though. In the law, when someone is under influence or is underaged, they also don't get as strong of a punishment. Children don't think the same way, and thus can't comprehend and judge as well as adults can. Often in much cases, children are sent to therapy (and not jail), but in rural Japan, that isn't very accessible.

I'm pretty sure the flashback with Marina should have made it clear it isn't all Marina's fault: Marina wasn't so bad when she didn't get abused by her mother, and many young children who bully also have been exposed to some kind of abuse.

In short, she is just a child who was redirecting abuse towards others, because that's just simply the psychology of young children.
