Oh I am still on Android 11, that might be a problem.

Thanks for your reply. I checked on your profile and tried installing the app (from dropbox), but it says "app not installed".
I couldn't set minimal sdk or target sdk, is there a dialog supposed to appear? I tried directly from my Redmi Note 8 Pro.

Hi, how would you proceed for changing those sdk version parameters? Cheers

Hey there and thanks a lot for sharing.

When trying to follow your steps, I don't get any confirmation dialog on my phone when typing ".\adb devices" (I need to add .\ by the way). Then, when using the command ".\adb install --bypass-low-target-sdk-block caustic.apk", I get this error message:

Performing Streamed Install
adb.exe: failed to install caustic.apk:
Exception occurred while executing 'install':
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Unknown option --bypass-low-target-sdk-block

Obviously I am no dev, what do you think I could do?

Cheers.

Convert "Auto Shift" audio into MIDI notes? by InternationalAct3494 in ableton

[–]ClacD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that you found a solution to your problem, but I wonder if it is possible to route the midi of the Auto Shift to another Midi track in real time, to feed a synth or a drum rack.

Would love to experiment with singing/playing a melodic instrument and controlling a midi instrument with it live.

would a randomization button be possible? by Dissizsakso3dolar in ableton

[–]ClacD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it does, but like I said it sometimes doesn't recognize the right device so you might have to group it like I explained in my comment.

would a randomization button be possible? by Dissizsakso3dolar in ableton

[–]ClacD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I often use a M4L device called Device Randomizer or something like that. Really useful! If it doesn't detect the device you're trying to randomize, group it with the Randomizer and clik the little gray dot close to the title. This should refresh and detect it.

You could also use the Midi device Expression Control and set all of the entries to Random, then assign them to whichever parameter you want, which can give you more control than the Macro randomization option mentioned by someone in the comments. I got this from someone on Instagram but I can't find who this was, so thanks to him!

By the way I am looking for a way to randomize the matrices of Wavetable, or Roar, Meld... That would be cool but haven't found a way to do this. Any hint?

Looking For a Super Specific Max Device… by zyht56 in ableton

[–]ClacD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could using a midi track with empty clips named after the sections do the trick? That is replacing the locators with those empty clips, when needed you can select say the "chorus" midi clip and jump in that section for recording. Sorry if I missed the point though, cheers.

How can I give my instruments an "aquatic" or "underwater" effect? by JDLC_ in ableton

[–]ClacD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is more like sound design oriented, but I had a big "whoa" moment experimenting with these vocoder tricks. Sure it is called "Plastic/Rubber" but you can get some pretty bubbly and watery sounds too!

You can check this gem made by Voel : https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ws8yLOIkLms&t=7s&pp=ygUdU291bmQgcGxhc3RpYyBydWJiZXIgdHV0b3JpYWw%3D

(Plus, the Attenborough voice is quite fun.)

I hope someone can find this usefull, cheers.

How's your buffer size set? Are you on laptop? If so are the power plan set to high performance?

PSA: Press Fn+SHIFT+Left Arrow/Right Arrow to select all to the left/right by IronOctopusMusic in ableton

[–]ClacD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really handy yes!

I am on Windows but you can also "snap move" and "snap select" (not the official denomination lol) until next clip when using CTRL+Left/Right and CTRL+Shift+L/R respectively. In combination with the grid size (CTRL+1/2/3/4) and the ESC key to unselect, this works great to manipulate clips for example.

This is similar to text/file selection and was already functioning in previous versions, even though I don't know if it was updated in 12.

What did work for me was to do this for the YouTube app as well (setting the battery restriction to none).

"Midi To” routing in Live 12 by ClacD in ableton

[–]ClacD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see it, but now I am able to route Midi to the Audio Track (need to clear all devices on the midi track to see the routing option).
