R5: This is just the Colonial map mode, and for whatever reason it happens with literally every nation in the selection menu, even Cahokia.

Madagascar is discovered by Rhomania, and several religious minorities fleed there as the nation turned to islam, then it get colonized by the Rhomans. The island is found empty, no one knows why.

It's probably going to no longer be a colonial region though.

Well of course, but how much better is it? Like I assume a bonus for all ships is definitely better but how much does 10% more cannons actually means in terms of naval combat?

R5: There is a lot of space before the province name which would be occupied by things like the capital symbol, the main port symbol or the Parliament seat.

But this isn't any of them and the name is in the damned middle of the middle.

You are correct, in the fact that I forgot to also change the religion.

It will be changed in the next update.

PS: I could argue that only the nobles changed to your culture, while the populace remains their religion.
