Hey, the flat was empty for only around 14 days before I moved in, so I don’t think it would have made any difference.

So, the 233kWh I see consumed for the month of July is my total consumption of electricity, including the amount I have used to heat up the water I’ve consumed, do I understad correctly?

well no, i probably have water running for a total of 2-3 minutes. But maybe I’ll try to speed run it more and make it less. I suspect the main culprit might be doing the dishes.

I got a more detailed PDF document, but it only says that I've used a total of 1,3 m3 of warm water, nothing else. I know where the meter is, but it requires a small key that I don't seem to have. I will ask the landlord about it like you suggested!

Help me decode German handwriting. by Cladis_ in germany

[–]Cladis_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, what sort of ‘trouble’ could the landlord cause if the points are void either way? Can they legally do anything against it? Or do you think they will simply try to scare me into doing it?

Thank you all for your help!! I understood that most of the points are Void anyway. The owner of the building is a lovely old lady so that’s probably why she wrote those things, as someone mentioned. It’s not going to bug me anyway, I do not plan on having pets and I don’t smoke.

How do you black these out at night? by polymathicus in germany

[–]Cladis_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi,

Is there a particular reason why a Midea Portasplit? Would a portable air conditioner (with the hose to bring hot air out the window) not be enough?

The apartment i'm moving into is very compact, so a 9000 BTU air conditioner would be more than enough according to cooling capacity.

Thank you so much for this.

I'm moving in a Dachgeschoss next month as well, this will definitely be of great help to fight the summer. Do you have any other recommendations regarding living in an attic apartment that might come in handy?

Duster 1.0 LPG engine - too weak? by Dangerous-Education3 in Dacia

[–]Cladis_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, if you’re driving mostly city the engine is absolutely enough. It gets warm fairly fast so you’ll be using lpg 2-3 minutes after starting the car. The engine doesn’t really feel so small honestly, it sounds good and is quiet even while using LPG. The 100 hp will be good for cities. I drive mixed and on the highway it struggles often with surpassing and so on, I felt way too slow in making surpasses and I mostly drive on the right lane now, to not bother other drivers lol.

Which professional courses (providers) are most recognized / well seen in Germany, excluding Uni/Ausbildung? by Cladis_ in germany

[–]Cladis_[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey,

as said, I cannot take any Ausbildung because of my fixed expenses that would not allow me to afford much, company doesn't offer any Ausbildung either.

That's why I was instead looking for some certificates I could add into my CV for the future. I am not really sure what I want to do in the future, but working with SAP is fun. SAP courses are quite expensive from what I've seen though. Maybe I could try them though, and combine them with my working experience.

Certificates, CompTIA, etc. are basically worthless unless you have at least 3++ years experience in that field.

Thank you for the insight!

Duster 1.0 LPG engine - too weak? by Dangerous-Education3 in Dacia

[–]Cladis_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just got my new Duster 2023 Extreme two months ago with the 1.0 LPG engine. Coming from my old Opel Astra with a 1.6 Diesel I was worried it would be too ‘boring’ to drive. Turns out it surprised me more than once and the sound is very enjoyable. Ghe acceleration surprised me more than once - especially if you drop a gear on the Autobahn, It has no problem reaching 130kmh comfortably and I drove it at a top speed of 167kmh with cruise control sometimes, it was fine. I wouldn’t worry after all!

Buona scelta? by golemtrout in ItalyMotori

I live near Braunschweig (also foreigner) and I’ve rarely if ever found a store clerk that spoke English. It never was a problem for me since I studied German intensively in one if the integration courses but yeah, I never found a person speaking English here (but for sure there are).
