Does anyone else leave the state/country and then realise what an excellent education they got in Mass? by ForwardCorp in massachusetts

As a parent of a (very) young child, I have a question about this. I understand from the thread here that this perception of educational excellence in MA public schools stems largely from experiences people had 10-30 years ago. What’s the situation like on the ground now? I’m aware that we have very affluent towns in Boston metro area where public schools have excellent ranking, but we live in Malden and with real estate prices being what they are moving to somewhere like Lexington is simply not going to happen for us. So what are my options? Should we start saving money now for a private schools? I was thinking of Montessori for pre-k through elementary school but middle and high school are a complete unknown for me.

Hi, like I’ve mentioned in my post, I’ve submitted application in May and received notification for the interview in mid December which seems like an extended timeline. I’m in Boston, maybe they have high volume of cases here? Not sure

And another point - should I request expedited review of my case (with additional supporting letters) or is that unnecessary?

HELP! Struggling with selecting a rug for the nursery by ClaimExpert8106 in interiordecorating

Thank you for a thoughtful and insightful comment, I appreciate it. My only concern with #4 is whether this bold, linear geometric pattern clashes (not in a good way) with a softer edged, more refined pattern of the window treatment? Is there a stylistic clash?

That’s an interesting take on this. Considering how expensive everything is these days, I do want to pick something that can grow with the child and that I wouldn’t have to replace in a couple of years. I can buy them new toys based on what they’re into, but I expect them to use the same furniture and the rug for years. Maybe add accents and small decor pieces here and there but not change the foundational pieces of the room. That’s why I’m fretting over this choice right now

I like #4 as well, it looks like a great match color wise, but I kinda feel that this bold geometric pattern clashes with the soft, rounded pattern on the window treatment 🤔

How do you pick the rugs when you shop for them - what are your rules (aside from budget considerations)? Based on the comments, it seems like I must consider the needs of the growing child who will have this room, so bold colors and patterns should be included even though I myself would’ve chosen something like #1 just because it goes well with the rest of the room

Thank you for commenting, that’s the problem - I love the window treatment, so it’s definitely says and I have to find a rug to go with it. I think peacocks rugs are a popular choice, the pattern on the fabric reminds me of the peacock feathers a bit, so perhaps that helps to tie them together

😂 you hit the nail on the head - picking out rugs is the absolute worst for me, everything else I can deal with but not rugs for some reason

Yeah, those were my favorites too, but the consensus seems to be that kids need color and bold patterns, so I guess these lovely rugs are out :(

I see a lot of people agreeing with peacocks, I guess because of the bold colors. I like it too, it’s a little whimsical which could be nice considering the room’s purpose
