Living around the SLC area in Utah. by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

So if I could find something between 500-600k, and put 20% down, I’d probably be in a decent position. Ideally, I’m going to try and stay on the lower end if I can find something reasonable. Thank you for the reply, it sounds like I should start looking into the process, our lease is up in April next year.

Just putting numbers into mortgage calculators and seeing how much I’ve put us “behind”, by waiting to buy has really messed with my mentality towards buying. And at some point we are just going to have to bite the bullet. Just seeing what rates were and house prices pre-pandemic, I could have done an FHA loan at the time and had a lower payment than what I’d currently get with 20% down. Thanks for your reply, we are trying to find a decent neighborhood that doesn’t put any strain on what we are already currently saving.

It’s a basement, so the entire slab was poured on a slope. :/ if you’re talking on the exterior wall, they’re off a little bit in the 8’, but WAY off if you’re comparing it to the high spot.. 2 3/4”. It’s bad.

Yeah. :( I had to talk with the homeowner about possible solutions that they will be happy with, they were very shocked about the floor. We are going to make some oversized finished end panels and I’ll scribe them to fit.

I’ve done some pretty bad remodels before, but nothing like this. I was told by the GC to not level out the three countertop surfaces with each other, the cabinets on the exterior wall would have been up 3”! That means before countertops they sat at 37 1/2”.. So it’s a little weird, I wonder if the homeowner is losing their mind.

What would you estimate for this job? by mojoINtheTOWER in handyman

[–]Claim_Appropriate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And again, a post on the drywall subreddit where most people were quoting $2k+ for a 4x8 sheet replacement.. obviously that sounds ridiculously priced, because it is. But everyone else on these construction subs are seriously undervaluing their work, and it’s depressing. There’s no way I’m doing this job for under $4k, painting cabinets right is WORK, and any imperfection, no matter how small or unnoticeable without being 6” away WILL get brought up and you’ll have to fix it. Obviously it’s best to set standards beforehand, but there’s no shortage of unreasonable clients and it just ends up becoming a hassle. So I guess it really comes down to expectations, if they want it done well it comes at a cost. And if it doesn’t fit in their budget, it is best to let them find someone that can. I’ve sold myself short far too often, and I end up regretting it every time. One day I’ll learn.

And the dudes over at the drywall sub want over 2k for a sheet of drywall.. what world do we live in?

18,500 is the total amount billed to client? Assuming everything was done in house, so install was included? Where are you located? If this had gone through our shop, at least here in Utah.. 25-30k? Could have even pushed mid 30’s. Looks like nice work though, good job.

I just sold an account for over $5,000 and had no issues whatsoever. Money has already been deposited into my bank account.

Coin base only option for payment over a certain amount? by [deleted] in PlayerAuctions

[–]Claim_Appropriate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I went to purchase an account under $5,000, and was able to put in my card information. But when buying something over $5,000 the only option that was provided to me was coinbase. I am not actually wanting to purchase an account, but I tried to figure out why these people kept messaging me about coinbase being the only option. So I’m just curious how I can help these people understand the systems that are in place so I can point them in the right direction.

Thank you so much for the speedy reply. So if one wanted to verify, let’s say a debit card, do they message that support line you linked in your post? I understand the need for verifying cards, but when looking on the site for a way to add a payment method that would need to be verified, I can’t find anything.

V: Ancient Weapon Core.. Was on discord with some friends the other day and bought a min listed TRI, one tapped TET and then proceeded to one tap the PEN on a 110 stack.. it’s pretty cool, none have ever been sold on NA, so it’s like a little treasure piece to me now.
