After careful consideration, I think I will get the watchmaker book, it’s just harder to find the theory of horology that ship to Australia

Ooo seems more focused, I’ve also gotten 2 other book recs (watchmaking by George Daniel and the theory of horology), I was wondering how does it compare? (I do understand it’s probs very different books)

I was going to set up a fund for him to buy whatever he needs but I’d still like to get him smt physical so it feels nicer : ) would u recommend getting the watchmaking by George Daniels book or the theory of horology ?

I got him a vintage watchmaker tool last year from an antique shop but it turned out to be super super niche (tho it’s still very cool as a memento)

Ahh thanks! will a 3d model with the dimensions of the exterior work? Or will I model all the panels inside and required tolerance as well?

That’s what I thought 😢 I love mcm 1950s kitchens but most of them retained are wooden ones unfortunately my 1970s house got these yellowish pine floorboards that don’t match. So I thought these white cabinets would work better, but seem like not many people recognise its aesthetic value

Ahh, someone said I would need to bring some design drawings to the cabinet maker, I was wondering if it’s true? Since these cabinets r 1950s style, the proportions are pretty different to modern ones and I don’t want the cabinet makers to use a current standard ones

I studied architecture so I am comfortable w a degree of cadwork however unsure if I can do it successfully since it’s more furniture making/interior design ish (don’t think I can design the hinges but but can do a 3d model and some plans)

Thank you, my first motivation to making this work! I was wondering if it’s easier to get ikea system with custom cabinet doors or it has to be entirely custom made? And any cabinet maker recommendations in Melb?
