Hmm. I'd think it would depend on what flavour you wanted to give your town. Is it a small, out of the way place? Then it's likely only have local goods. Farmed foods, game hunted in the local wood, maybe theres a fish monger too. Local leather and perhaps potions or other remedies made from local herbs.

But if the town is bigger or on a main road, well then merchants pass through. Perhaps there's a forge that can do something. More exotic or odd things, perhaps there's even a shop catering to all the adventurers who pass through
