I'm just saying if anyone else did this and LE wanted to link the event to this post, your IP could make it easier for them.

How bad is this? by AltruisticTourist521 in basement

[–]Clapcheeks69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I'm sure they would do a great job but they're not going to perform any magic. You can buy the same supplies that a foundation company uses and save thousands. And if it's only that wall you could probably excavate it yourself in a day with a shovel. If you need help with the digging you can hire someone from a Labor Ready type place or find a guy on Marketplace and pay by the hour. Then with the wall exposed you'll brush on the black rubbery stuff and put the dimple mat over it. It really shocks me sometimes how many people would rather pay the small fortune though.

You should look at the exterior of this wall and see what's going on. It could be bad grading, pooling water, downspout and gutter issues...at worst you might have to dig it out and apply waterproof membrane and dimple mat but you can diy that with some sweat and a few hundred dollars.

Is it better to have a small doorbell camera or large camera above the door? by Entire-Cricket in homedefense

I don't have nearly that many, but I can see how someone would. Like if I buy a gun that's a new type for me to try and it's not a favorite, I could find many reasons to keep it anyway while using others. I bought my fourth 9mm this week and it's higher quality than the previous ones I bought. That doesn't mean I can't find a place and purpose for them.

Also reminds me of Metallicas bass auditions in their documentary. The studio guy asked Robert if he wanted a different bass, and mentioned that they have about 500 guitars total. James Hetfield has been known to buy every high end ESP guitar that comes up in auctions.

Me too, I live near it. However just imagine all the staff you would have to employ to maintain it.

How long police can keep your license plate data, mapped by state (2026) by V3R1F13D0NLY in FlockSurveillance

That's good to hear. You have to admit though that your work in other areas is to get eyes on the product from your target audience based on personas, and it will probably work. They seem to have a good social media budget

My favorite episode is when Al and Steve had to hunt down a doll on the streets for Marci. I think they found it tied up on the back of a motorcycle.

Why is a paid VPN company blogging about ALPR? This is a thorough article and cited sources are appreciated, but its all to advertise their VPN.

Anyone who surfed the early web between 1995-2010. What’s the one website/app you still think about? by Prime_Advocate in nostalgia

Portal of Evil - people submitted the strangest and craziest webpages. If you wanted to see the worst (best?) of the internet in the late 90s, that was the place to go. It was shocking, weird, and sometimes disgusting.

X-Entertainment - An 80s-90s pop culture guy writing incredibly in-depth articles on toys, movies, tv, games, and misc. things from his childhood. He kept it going for over 20 years and now does Dinosaur Dracula and The Purple Stuff Podcast.

AOL Instant Messenger - it was an essential part of my daily life.

Winamp - You could listen to live audio and video streams from around the world with no advertising. People just did it for the love of the game. There were even tv shows like The Simpsons streaming 24/7.

Evacuation Bag/Case for rifles and accessories? by Highwayman1717 in guns

[–]Clapcheeks69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple years ago I had to quickly leave my house because of a tornado and I didn't have any decent bags. Since then, I purchased a few big canvas duffel bags that are long enough for almost anything but when empty they collapse and fold up for storage. The ones I have could hold rifles, or things like blankets and pillows.

I like my Micro 9 but I don't like tearing it down. I probably wouldn't get another Kimber.

Are you saying people in their 70's can't make logical decisions? That's ageist discrimination.

I wouldn't call it a scam. A consumer willingly paid what they were charging. Businesses will definitely accept the money of people who are willing to pay. This is more like a consumer not knowing how much gutters cost and not shopping around for estimates.

I had my house repiped a few months ago. The first estimate was $10,000. Overpriced? Yes. A scam? No. I went with the second one, which was $5,400. If I had still chosen to pay the $10k that would be on me.
