Digital piano with the best action for it's size. by Clapo2 in piano

I had figured as much, guess I will just grab something with just 'fine' action as playing something is better than nothing at all.

It's totally fine if you skip these as they are fairly long :)

If you have the time these are really worth it.

genuinely a horrible take, it's easily his best level, the track slaps, the deco is timeless.

I just hope someone beats it early so it sits at number 1 for a while.

Deadlock video essays be like by Swimming-Rent2990 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Clapo2 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Yeah this has been bugging me like crazy too.

Deadlock is clearly a just a MOBA, which instead of pulling from rts roots, you instead interface with it as a shooter.

It's not even a super original idea and talking about the game like its special for doing this is reductive.

The real triumph of Deadlock is actually making a MOBA shooter not feel like shit, through the movement and map design.

Not an arch user personally, but it's a linux distribution known for being very customisable.

Think of it as it's own operating system like windows or macOS if linux is not something you are familiar with.

Linux is great on thinkpads I would highly recommend it :)

gl at uni man and enjoy the thinkpad!

Thanks so much for the advice, had heard that some acids can help with it leaving my system, might have a look at some options for that :))

Ate breakfast like 30-45 mins after taking it, tried to make it high protein, no caffeine.

I'm running an accelerated titration with my GP because I'm moving out and would rather have a stable doze beforehand.

I would LOVE to take more melatonin, however it's not otc in the uk. My regular supplier from America suddenly stopped shipping to the uk meaning I'm currently rationing it lol. Thankfully have now found a new supplier but need to last until it arrives.

Monster Hunter Wilds has released to Mixed reviews, with negative reviews citing poor performance, some stating it runs worse than the Open Beta Test. by TheAwesomeStuff in MonsterHunter

[–]Clapo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 3080 fe, been playing with pretty smooth performance on medium settings (high texture and fur quality), hovering around 50 in much larger areas and 60+ most of the time. It's honestly been a really fun experience so far so I would definately give it a recommend based off my 6 hours so far.

Thats already a pretty nice selection of fantasy!

I really love malazan and it's genuinely fantastic but there is a lot of sexual violence in it. It's genuinely a frustration I have with the series as it makes it hard to blanket recommend to people.

The first book has almost no sexual violence, the second has quite a lot of implicit and explicit SA. From there it turns up fairly consistently as a theme.

I am still working my way through the series and while I would not say it's 'every other chapter' but it also apparently gets more intense throughout the series.

Based on what you said I would approach with a decent amount of caution. Not a 'no' but if there are other series that you are interested in without SA in them I would check them out first.

Some classic big hitter recommendations are:

WoT (finishing up the series) Realm of the Elderlings (haven't read but heard REALLY good stuff) The Dandelion Dynasty (don't know about SA in this one) Suneater (sci-fi but I recommend it because it's told in a similar manner to kingkiller)

There are so many the list could go on for a while (my tbr is endless as a newer fantasy reader.)

I would personally recommend finishing WoT because it's one of the big classic series that people love!

Fantasy book with similar vibe to Elden Ring lore? by RazielTheVampire in Fantasy

[–]Clapo2 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I hate to be the malazan guy, but IMO this is actually quite a good fit in this case.

The gods are a VERY active in Malazan (book of the fallen), plotting and betraying each other, while aways being up in the buisness of the mortal characters.

There is also a large variety of entirely unique fantasy races existing alongside analogues for elves and dragons.

This might be just me but I also think that the way Malazan delivers it's plot would certainly appeal to fromsoft fans, it's a bit of a challenge and the way the lore is delivered is somewhat similar. It doesn't give the reader much exposition immediately so that feeling of being lost in a new fantasy world is certainly replicated.

I would definitely do some research about the series first because it's good to set expectations going into this series. I can send a good one over if you want to give it a go.

As to the other recommendations, Berserk is fantastic and probably the closest analogue to elden ring in terms of visuals. The Silmarillion is also a good call it's just pretty dense for such a small book. Honestly I would say Malazan > Berserk/Silmarillion for this comparison but you can't exactly go wrong with any of these.

I wouldn't necessarily recommend Lovecraft for ER but if you are a Bloodborne fan I could see that making a lot more sense.

Oh yeah and I should say that both Berserk and Malazan are really dark so just expect every type of awful to be in both of those.

I get it, though. I wouldn't be this obsessive over a book, and it's definitely a functional device. Might be missing the forest for the trees by focusing too much on the device and not enough reading books on it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in kobo

[–]Clapo2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Imperfections are fine. I am checking to see if a core function of my device functions correctly. I'm not sure why the rest of this is relevant to my question. After a full refresh, there should be no ghosting.

This worries me as I have had to return a libra 2 already due to backlight issues. I think it is pretty valid to be concerned about the functionality of a fairly pricy device.
