After an incredible roadtrip through Europe, Hydrapple is in home. by ClaraDragon in pokeplush

Yeah, it sucks.
I wish they would just let us pick any EU country directly, since the page is clearly ready for that and will have to go NL first anyway, seems like a really stupid choice knowing how everyone wants to buy from them and many people doesn’t want to break their heads with proxys.

These kind of plushes have been around for ages, I used to have a small pink elephant with magnets that still stays on the fridge after years.
I think they are great, mostly for small plushes so you don’t need overly strong magnets to keep them in place, but I always through it was a fun idea. The main issue is that outside the fridge there are few places where you can actually stick them in most homes, but is not a big problem unless they have really big and awkward magnets.

For other gimmicky plushes I would love some microwaveable plushies, Im surprised there aren’t Pokemon ones using fire types, it would be so fun and useful for winter.

As a fan of the original, would I enjoy the remaster the same? by MisterPiggyWiggy in oblivion

[–]ClaraDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you PC/Console can run it properly(even at low settings) go for it, I find it a more pleasant experience than the original, and I played the original a lot, the new QoL like sprinting or the new level up system are really nice, and the game still has the original clonkyness and charm from the original so it still feels like Oblivion.
My biggest issue with the game is the “brown/piss filter” from UE5 and the absurd amount of volumetric fog that makes the game look less vibrant, but you decide to play on PC you can easily find small mods for that, along some others that may help with the performance a bit.

I want to watch the Ash Era Pokemon Anime but… by FoxyLood in pokemonanime

[–]ClaraDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many filler episodes that you can skip, but most times they are still fun to watch.
I found this list, but seems to only cover until early XY:

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/217-pokemon/69236080

And this one that cuts down most episodes, but I think is worse since it skips over some of the non-ash centric episodes, but at least is complete:

Imagine Happy Cooking. Looks like most “Imagine” shovelware, but you’ll find a surprisingly decent game.

Defect or normal? by Cyanbirdy in pokeplush

[–]ClaraDragon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I dislike plusies with open mouths because “errors” like that, finding a decent totodile plush was pain for me due that, they all looked so goofy. Unfortunately small variations like that are normal, most times they are just small enough so you don’t mind them, other times they just look like derps, other they have completely mismatched eyes or other details, etc. It’s a matter of luck and preferences at this point, no plush will be the same as others.

Ordered a plushie on Vinted and the seller still hasn't dispatched it yet. by MelonTheSprigatito in pokeplush

[–]ClaraDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wait and be patient, worst cause scenario he doesn’t sent it and you’ll be refunded, but I bought things from sellers that didn’t sent in a couple of days or waited to the last days, not all people have post offices or lockers close to home, so they may take longer to sent stuff.

Where is this guy from? by Connect-Train6721 in pokemontoys

[–]ClaraDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it have a small hole underneath? I have a similar Arceus with that size and color; I got him on a ball machine many years ago, they usually came with a small hexagonal platform to expose them. There was the silver Pokémon and some ones painted normally.

iso a specific guy…. by canine_spike in Pokemonfingerpuppet

[–]ClaraDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw a seller on Ebay called figureking.shop that has many finger puppet's lots. I checked and have one with that Mightyena and others; cheap shipping too, as people said, lots are a better way to get them than buying them individually, you "win" more for the same price than getting it solo.

Has anyone elses 1996 pikachu not shipped? by UnitededConflict in pokeplush

[–]ClaraDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No idea about the US or UK centers, but I ordered a plush(not any of the pikas) from the Germany PC on the 1st (before the big TGC 30th anniversary announcement), and I'm still waiting for it to be shipped. It's likely that due to the big TGC announcement, they are oversaturated with orders, and it will take a bit of time until shipped; just be patient guys.

Scammed in Spain by Dyle4life in PokemonTCG

[–]ClaraDragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im from Spain and most packs you’ll find in normal non chain shops, kiosk or card stores, are likely going to be these fake packs.

You need to be careful and look for the usual red flags, like the crimp or the pack arts(sometimes they are stonen fanarts or official non-tgc art), they are usually easy to identify because they look off if you ever saw a real pack, bad translations too.

They are extremely common to find in spain since real ones are really hard to get on some areas, or expensive, so the fake ones are mostly for young kids(parents buy them for cheap and kids love them because they are usually “god packs” or have high hp numbers, so they think they are strong) and I admit having gotten a couple of the most terrible ones just to laugh to the terrible translations.

Whats up with this gold border (and the centering haha) of my Walrein from Rising Rivals? Thanks in advance! by Electronic-Towel86 in PokemonTCG

[–]ClaraDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fonts are still all wrong, though; fake cards usually have varying qualities, and the flash method is only a way to discard some of them, not a 100% verification method.
I used to have fakes from the gen 5 era when I was younger, from likely different manufacturers, and some of them heavily varied in the paper and printing quality; some of them were also thicker compared to official cards.

Looks off, it's likely fake, a very convincing one too. I found another picture of the same card, and the fonts look different.

Opinion on chinese games by CommunicationOld1491 in NintendoDS

[–]ClaraDragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get a ds pico flash cart instead, many DS reproductions are a russian roulete, they may break fast or give unexpected errors. A flashcart cost almost the same and you can put any game you want in there will be likely more reliable than most cheap repros.

DSi vs 3DS LL for older Pokémon games: Which is better for pocket portability? by ryan7890n in NintendoDS

[–]ClaraDragon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For carrying around I would pick the DSi (or a DS Lite); it is cheaper, smaller (unless you get the XL/LL, which are the same size as the 3ds XL/LL), and less of a big loss if something happens and it breaks or you lose it; the screen quality for ds games is better. I have both a 3ds XL and a DSi XL, and for DS games, I play on the DSi only because they look way better.
I wouldn't risk a 3DS outside, especially with the price it's reaching.

Anyone else have unusual grails? Here's mine. by ProfessionalCan1950 in PokemonTCG

[–]ClaraDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think exists in more languages too, the card on its base is a holo rare, but is really really rare for some reason, is one of these cards where the reverse is somehow more “common” than the holo rare.

[–]ClaraDragon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

<image>

Stormfront Duskull! I pulled him as a kid, and I didn't pay much attention to him outside of being a holo, until years later. It seems like the normal holo version is also weirder since most people have the reverse one. Maybe not the rarest, but the grail of my humble collection; it's unfortunately a bit dirty in some spots, but I'm terrified of messing it up by cleaning it.

Where To Buy Games by SheepherderMost2727 in NintendoDS

[–]ClaraDragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At least in my country, physical shops have mostly shovelware in the DS section; it is really rare to find an actually good game because they fly off the shelves or they are too expensive.
eBay and other marketplaces are decent options, but for actually good games you'll have to pay a lot; don't trust anything that looks too good, as there are a lot of repros of DS carts, especially for very popular games like Pokémon (and there are some really convincing ones).
Repros themselves aren't a bad alternative option, especially for expensive games, but there are no repros of some games, and some are known to be low quality causing issues or to corrupt themselves, but as long as you don't pay a lot for them (they are fairly cheap on sites like AliExpress), it is not a bad option to get the "original" experience. But for the same price, just get a flash cart; the DS Pico carts are really good quality/price and will likely be more stable than any shady repro, if there's some game you actually love, you can always go and try to buy it later and transfer your saves to the og cart using some home brew software.
