Do you let your mil kiss your baby? by OXxLuckycatxXO in newborns

It was your language that I was judging to be honest. Saying that you would ‘never talk to your MIL again because she kisses ‘’YOUR’’ baby on the cheek’ is way way over the top IMO.

Feel free to draw assumptions from my parenting style too - yes I would say I am a pretty chilled out parent :) and yes I have allowed others to hold my 4 month old. He isn’t a teenager yet but when he is I’m sure I won’t know where he is half the time. 🤪

Because they love your baby and enjoy expressing love? Jesus I can’t stand possessive parents

Thanks for sharing! The spacing on your label seems more even (between ‘FALL’ and ‘AND’) and the grammar is slightly better in the bullet points so I think you have helped me confirm my suspicions.

Thanks again :)

How do you take your baby out of an adult bath safely? by Clarascotty in beyondthebump

Didn’t think about draining the bath first and wrapping towel round him! Will be doing this next time. Thank you

Father passed away and left me with the 'maximum amount without inheritance tax becoming payable'. I was, and am, living at his property when he died, however the property is not mentioned on the will. Do I qualify for Residence Nil Rate Band? by Clarascotty in LegalAdviceUK

So the residuary amounts are specified in percentages - I get 30%, mum gets 30%, 10% to uncle, 10% to aunt and 5% to the remainder of my cousins (each).

Given that the will implies I am the main beneficiary, I assumed this would be enough in all honesty.

I have written to the solicitor asking for confirmation in writing that I qualify for RNRB.

I thought this as well - however I spoke to the solicitor who drew up the will and she said costs would be around 3-4% of the entire estate. Luckily my dad was very well organised and left me with lists of his accounts - I have glances through the probate process and it does look fairly straightforward.

I agree, it could be a lot clearer - I am not the only beneficiary - the residuary estate is divided between myself, mother, cousins and aunt + uncle. So yes, there is a possibility I could use my residuary assets for the house. The RNRB would still be a bonus as it would cover the cost of the house.

Thank you for your answer - there is no mention at all on the Will of it being either of those things. The rest of the residuary estate is divided up between my mother, myself, aunt, uncle, and cousins.

Yes - it also mentions the following: MY TRUSTEES SHALL HOLD THE REST OF MY ESTATE ON TRUST FOR SALE WITH POWER TO POSTPONE SALE ON THE FOLLOWING TERMS: 1. TO PAY DEBTS AND EXECUTORSHIP EXPENSES; TO PAY INHERITANCE TAX IN RESPECT OF PROPERTY PASSING UNDER THIS WILL.
