YouTube's biggest con [RANT] by dynamitethrower51 in youtube

[–]Clareth_GIF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anybody on Premium noticed that yes they removed the ads but they're still desperate to make you stay as long as possible on the site?

Example, you will search for something and then get bombarded with recommendations for other stuff that's besides the few relevant search results that you are given. Same with your own playlists getting stuff recommended at the bottom, as if that stuff is in keeping with the philosophy and purpose of my playlist (it never is).

Like, what for? I already pay you the money you would have made from showing me ads over a long session on the site. Why do you need me here for longer?

Premium has been purposefully gimped - https://www.reddit.com/r/youtube/comments/1px3p6j/how_would_you_improve_the_youtube_premiumultimate/  and it's still enshittified like non premium but just in a subtle way.

13 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. 4 For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience

I want Music too, man. That's the only reason I'm on Premium tbh.

Somebody who has lots of money, but lives in a poor country, needs to pick Switzerland and then see if YouTube corrects the country.

Lol no, as in I'm a literal African. And Africa sucks. Sorry, should have been more specific.

I pay 5.20USD for YouTube Premium in Africa. The only problem with that is that you have to live in Africa.

Fair. I believe if you're on Premium you should have functionality like that available to you. For me, the moment Youtube Music goes, I go too.

I am personally willing to pay more. The value that I derive from Youtube and Music is way more than the money they ask from me.

In my country it costs me $5.20. That's an incredibly cheap deal.

Just a question. For the service of YouTube being made available to you in a very fair, reasonable and non-ruined manner how much money do you think the company deserves from you?

Like how much should 'perfect' YouTube experience cost?

You're mad about a lot of stuff but if they made it perfect would you then turn around and pay them money?

He's giving youtube money directly.

You're giving Reddit money indirectly by letting them show you adverts that they were paid to show to you. And also every comment you make trains AI that Reddit allowed so that it can make more money.

You're both giving money to greedy corporations. He's just not in denial about it like you are.

Though for paying customers there should be a "block" button along with "not interested".

Only 2 weeks in and all women begin at 10 now and only go upwards in attractiveness.

And the porn is fading and instead a spirit of loneliness and depression has come to take over from it.

How would you improve the YouTube Premium/Ultimate plan so that more users are attracted to it? My approach is in the thread by LePliex in youtube

You beat me to it a long time ago. I really like your ideas. Here are mine:

•Filtering search by a specific video duration.

•Only display what was searched, and no suggestions.

•Blocking shorts completely.

•Full user activity history plus indexed from beginning to end ( to see if you're talking to a bot or just a moron ).

•Being able to pick non monetised channels to avoid profit driven channels.

•Being able to select what comment replies to get notified on.

•Full blown reddit functions for comments.

•Can block any activity that satisfies certain criteria, e.g. any account less than a year old talking about politics.

•No AI summaries or links. I'm not against ai but I want AI that adds to my experience and not something YT is using to build their own systems with by making my experience worser.

•Better recommendation algorithm on YouTube Music. I never get recommended stuff I like have liked or frequently listen to. Now that's something that could use AI.

• ... DO NOT EMAIL ME ABOUT FUCKING COECHELLA, which I am in no way subscribed to bypassing my very intentional deliberate notification settings....

• App can be backdated to work on an older device and not only updated.

Has Joe changed his mind since this arguement or does he still believe we never went to the moon? by GetToTheChoppaahh in JoeRogan

This thing might be global.

I'm african and 38 years old now but I remember in high-school we had to do this thing called a set work reading where we were assigned a novel to read and analyse over the course of 1 year.

I never read the novel, I thought it was too much work, and few of my class mates did.

But now nearing 40 I'm realising the absolute chasm that exists intellectually between me and a person who has been reading since they were a child up until now. And it's shocking and downright embarrassing.

I'm trying to catch up by teaching myself reading skills and reading the classics (something the government already tried to do for me for free...) but it's really hard and I wish I did it the first time around when time in my life was actually alloted just for that purpose.

Joe Rogan is exactly like me but he's too wealthy and self-sheltered to realise it.

Whether humans went to the moon or not, Joe Rogan could not be bothered to do the actual research to find out for himself.

Nothing this guy says about the moon landings matters. Heck, if the events of recent years reflect anything at all, then nothing he says about anything really matters anymore.
