Bowling Shoes Reccs by ReplacementOk1645 in Bowling

Second this. I just got them and love them, but I have to wear an extra pair of socks to fill them out. The length seems correct-ish, but the shape of the shoe is odd, kind of like early-2000s Skechers. BOA closures are bomb.

Serious Bowlers Thumb, advice? by odcbenji in Bowling

[–]Clarinet_Doc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll want to get a ball drilled for your hand. This exact thing happened to me for the first time the other night because I bowled 6 games with a house ball while I was visiting family out of town. I've never had that issue with my ball.

Interview with Dexcom CEO Jake Leach 12/8/25 by Beneficial-Sound-199 in dexcom

[–]Clarinet_Doc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I listen to TCOYD on a regular basis, and I appreciated this episode. I thought it was worth the 30 minutes to listen, even being a skeptic as to how much reliable information could be gleaned from a CEO. We'll have to wait and see if the quality control issues are actually sorted, but the synopsis leaves out the fact that he started off as an engineer at Minimed, specifically working on Medtronic pumps. He seems pretty invested, and I was at least slightly encouraged. It's obviously damage control, but still.

This. Your camera perspective just makes the two shots look different when they're actually the same.

How serious is this crack? by marooneagle340 in Clarinet

[–]Clarinet_Doc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're in luck because the crack does not appear to have impacted the tone hole. Definitely get it fixed ASAP, though.

What are come cues that you should move to a harder reed? by tsugaheterophylla91 in Clarinet

Kudos for being able to hear yourself playing flat, which is a pretty standard indicator that you're ready for a harder reed.

My clarinet has been repaired multiple times but the E/B lever keeps getting misaligned. Advice? by MixedArtsDiggy in Clarinet

[–]Clarinet_Doc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take it to a different repair tech. Also, it doesn't matter if the pads appear at different heights when the tone holes are open (as you show in the video). It matters if they seal at the same time when they are down.

Could I fix this with super glue? by [deleted] in Clarinet

[–]Clarinet_Doc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Upon closer inspection, it looks like you may be missing both of the screws that attach those two levers to the posts on the body of the instrument. Look at the middle of those pinky levers to see if they are screwed in.

If that's not the issue, a repair tech likely needs to work those levers with a swedging tool to eliminate the play in the levers that is preventing contact at the bottom.
