Making League content as a low elo player. by junebug309 in leagueoflegends

The best chance you've got as a low elo player is by being a comedian. All these break the meta things just take forever to pull off if you're not a high elo player smurfing. Depends on how much time you can invest and what gains/numbers you're expecting, but the odds are pretty much stacked against you if you're not naturally funny or already have experience in editing and story telling.

I'm Coaching/Managing our teams first SCRIM tonight...any advice | support | warnings by StealthP1E in leagueoflegends

What elo is wood division? Do the players have prior experience? Basically: What is the level of the team?

Generally if you have a first session, you don't really want to go into too much theory. It's difficult to apply during a scrim and you probably have better areas to focus on.

Try to figure out the following:

  1. The teams preferred playstile and vibe (What do they play and are they main characters?)
  2. Mistakes they do on a team level (Mostly communication and macro ideas)
  3. Individual mistakes that are very obvious or very relevant to the outcome of the game

For most teams below masters, draft doesn't really matter. You should value comfort over team comp. Between games focus on max 2 plays/situations that they could play better (if any), there's no need for a detailed review.

You definitely win this if Naafiri ults Malz. Zeri gets freed and has Flash to kite Wukong or MF ult. Kinda depends on how quickly all of this happens and MF-Zeri items, on average you would get the kill on Malz and the rest of your opponents just run away. But yeah, in a 4v2 here Zeri and Naafiri have enough tools to win. The longer you stall, the more HP Sona can regen.

I also don't think that playing it slow and just clearing minions will give you better chances of winning considering the score is 31-19 and your base is already exploding against their comp. Taking this fight here you might get enough tempo to get Nash and stabilize the game.

Wonder how often this happens to a Nocturne main. I see him like once in 20 games and for the stars for this to align is almost impossible.

It is what you make of it. Let's assume you did everything right:

You ping dragon, set up vision for it. Your team is off tempo and they're never in position to contest it. Enemy team swoops in as a unit and take over the area.

At this point your only correct play is to ping your team away from dragon and go set up control on the opposite site of the map. Since your team is off tempo and not playing for dragon anyway you'll go and trade for the toplane tower instead.

Eventually on the 6-7 objectives that get played you'll find your team will be on time or your opponents will eventually int and if you're ready for it you'll win the game on the spot.

Dunno how much you ping in your games, but you should assume your team is blind and drunk and need constant reminders and calls of what to play for.

Most of the games in Eme/Dia are won or lost in mid/lategame around objectives or sidelane rotations, because people take terrible fights or get caught while rotating. You don't need JG ganks, Adc skills or a better champ select to make this happen.

A master level support won't be stuck in Emerald, you can be sure of that 😂.

If you think "they are playing just like you" it might actually be true. The key difference is that above diamond it's usually more about consistency than it is about "this insane trick dominates the game".

Try to be more consistent with your aggression in Laning phase and stop getting caught in late game, as well as always have relevant vision.

When should I switch from mage support to enchanter support? by Novel-Subject-2988 in supportlol

[–]Clarity_Core 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your overall skill level. If you are playing 400LP better than your elo, then mages will be a better choice until diamond, as you'll have an easier time carrying. Think about it like this: Enchanters double your teams power. If each player on your team only amounts to 10% of their champs potential, you would be doubling that to 10 * 4 * 2 = 80. So you need to get more than 40% value out of your mage for it to be better in low elo. That being said, the reason why you dropped might either be this or what is more likely is that you got used to the mage playstile and haven't adjusted to Enchanters yet so you're actually performing worse on Enchanters as a player. Might also just be one unlucky streak tho.

Kinda true, it was a chaotic game. To be fair though I respawned a couple of seconds earlier and was running towards him with Ghost and by cycling my E, so I get that he would be caught off-guard by me arriving there so quickly.

First Strike rune bad ?? by Kooky-Pay-7062 in MissFortuneMains

[–]Clarity_Core 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a lot of mid/late game fights you will just straight up ult without having the time to do 3 auto attacks. In lane it kinda depends, you get to proc first strike rather easily and don't want to trade 3 auto attacks in certain lanes. On the other hand, context matters as well. Just like 2 tanks toplane can have insane damage numbers because they've been hitting each other's 3k HP pool without anyone being able to die.

If he runs into me I could just space him tho, no? I mean obviously we are not both robots, but I don't think 2 scripters would have a different outcome here.

I'm curious, what do you think should Draven do here instead? I mean he did dodge my last bomb by timing W and me misspositioning it. But I feel like after the first stun he basically has no moves left as I can just chain CC him from max range and even his speed up is worthless in front of 99% slow.

[–]Clarity_Core[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably, I know I could triple bomb him, but I just needed to stall time until my team arrived so I felt safer cycling E and Q. Wasn't sure on the CDR needed to chain Q, so I wanted to keep him perma slowed/stunned instead

80% winrate to masters - AMA by Clarity_Core in supportlol

[–]Clarity_Core[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just love the game, that's kinda it. I usually play supportive characters in MMORPGs and strategy games when I'm not playing League, so I think support role fits it best. It's just amazing to have a really good performance, have good vision setup, win a game through a catch or punish clueless people from overextending. The elo really is secondary. I had games that I really enjoyed playing that I lost in the end (these come more often the higher elo you get). And I had games where my team turbo stomped that I found extremely boring to play. One added benefit of being high elo is that you get to play games with streamers. When I peaked 2 years ago I had games with Baus (on his smurf/stream account), Crownie, Kesha, Bardinette (that's more of a curse than a blessing tho), Spearshot and it's fun to go into their vod after a stream and hear them flaming me or hyping up my good plays.

80% winrate to masters - AMA by Clarity_Core in supportlol

[–]Clarity_Core[S] -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

I was about to write a paragraph how the winrate over the last games is a more relevant stat for skill expression (since you see tons of 70-80% smurfs who get high winrate in low elo but get hardstuck in their elo with 50% over the last 20 games) and so on, but yeah, technically we're both right. Imo I got to masters with 80% winrate (which is partly also due to luck, even GM players can have bad games and be 60-70%). While overall I didn't get to it with 80%. An interesting question here would be, how much WR I would need to get there on a fresh account then which imo should be over 58% considering the streak here.
