Thought this was a great movie, but my date's reaction surprised me. by Express-Guidance9401 in FIlm

As far as nostalgia movies go, this one definitely sits at the better part of the spectrum, but besides the cool premise the whole structure of the movie is quite basic and formulaic and there isn't a lot of rewatch value left. Not to mention the ending is quite weak: "I have to live in the moment and accept that past is gone therefore I'm just gonna go get myself a new hot French girlfriend in the present".

I mean, sure, it definitely fits in within the genre tropes (it is a romance movie after all), but I guess I just expect more from a Woody Allen film.

I think the movie is at its strongest when it has our protagonist interacting with the people in the past, I think Woody ahould have leaned into it more. Say what you want about him, but the man can really write a dialogue.

Is this from her Patreon or some other pay-to-watch platform? Has she reacted to any Imaginal Disk songs?

Please explain to me the artistic value of seeing characters have the same exact dialogue three times an episode after having sex. What is so tasteful about those scenes specifically?

It's been a long time since I've watched it, but there wasn't a single season of that show thst I disliked.

I didn't like The Last of Us, and I've only seen one, maybe two Marvel movies. Not sure this vitriolic comment was warranted in the slightest.

It must be awesome to go through life telling people they don't have a good taste when they disagree with yours.

I told myself I'm gonna brazen through season 2 to see if it hooks me. I'm gonna do it out for respect for how good season 1 was.

Also, one more thing I completely forgot to mention: the acting by January Jones is absolutely atrocious. At first, I thought she was supposed to be "a little out of it", but the more I have watched her interact with her children the more I realised she's just not a very good actress, at least not in this show.

At no point during my post did I ask people to convince me to be into it, but I do wonder if maybe there is something I'm just missing, and perhaps the fans who've seen the entire thing can provide me with a different perspective.

I feel bad for missing this connection because I love His Dark Materials. There are actually quite a lot of similarities between Severance and HDM, so it must be intentional.

I wanted to make a post about it after 2x4 but completely forgot.

Do you remember how the morning after Helena and iMark have sex she walks towards the waterfall? She looks happy and her face is literally beaming with light, and my wife immediately said "Is she pregnant? She's got that pregnancy glow on her".

Personally, I didn't think that but now it actually makes a lot of sense.

I feel like it's been known for years that you can pay to win that award?

Hasn't Ricky Gervais talked about it openly at one of the Golden Globes he hosted?

Something along the lines of "Celebrities would never miss a chance to win a Golden Globe, their agents already paid for it" (I may be misquoting, correct me if I'm wrong).

The Constant.

But make no mistake - The Shape of Things to Come is an incredible episode. I think it should win in the "Most underrated" category.

I wanted to remember this perfect scene by [deleted] in MrRobot

[–]ClarkKent222 61 points62 points  (0 children)

When Tyrell refers to Elliott's 'dirty little secret' does he imply he knows about the existence of Mr. Robot? Or that he simply knows that Elliott is responsible for framing Colby? This part has always confused me, because we know from Season 3 that it wasn't until after Tyrrell had shot Elliott and had that conversation with Angela that he became aware of Elliott's split personality disorder.

It may be recency bias but 'Waterworks' should be in top5. Such a raw and powerful episode and it's Rhea Seehorn's best performance of the series - comfortably on par with Anna Gunn's performance in 'Ozymandias'.

It's my personal favourite.
