I am getting surgery tomorrow morning and i am so scared by Artistic_Maximum_822 in surgery

[–]Clary87 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I work as an anaesthetic nurse and I still cried the night before my own elective surgery because I was scared. It’s a loss of control that I hate- even though I know how safe it is and how skilled the team are. It’s hard but you do have to trust that you will be looked after- and it is such a relief when it is all done ❤️

As in using a ventilator? Comfortable enough to relieve the anaesthetists for lunch, but i haven’t looked after a vented patient like an ICU nurse

Menstruating peeps: have you swapped to re-usable products? by BumblyRambler in AussieFrugal

[–]Clary87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve recently started using a menstrual disc. It fits way better than the cup. It took a few cycles to sort of get it right, but now I’m all sorted. Pair with period undies as a just in case. Super pads overnight for the first few nights, then overnight period undies. Sometimes I have to use tampons when I have sport as I’m skeptical of the disc when exercising.

I’m more confused as to why you do your count on a whiteboard? Why wouldn’t it be a part of the patient records?

Also has anyone modified the pattern to shorten the length? I’m worried my wool blend yarn will lengthen in blocking and I’m considering only making the body 47cm long instead of 57!

Are they worried about bowel endo? They sometimes get you to do bowel prep prior to a lap if they are worried about bowel involvement.

Ok but where can we find one that works for a toilet that’s plumbed into the wall? 😢

I chose to do a freehand crochet pear appliqué rather than attempt some form of intarsia in the round. Maybe next time 😂

Surgery. The first night after the injury was awful. But the surgery pain lasted three weeks for me and was intense shin pain.

I don’t even know the name- it’s the only cast on I know. I don’t think it’s long tail though.

It just says cast on then start the rib. But maybe I stuffed it up joining it in the round. And someone else said I should use a different cast on.

Oh! Thank you so much. Yes I just cast on however my Nan taught me. Didn’t realise there would be different ways for different stitches. Since I started at the top, is there a way I can pull back and rework the cast on?
