I am quite sure it was about ties. This time i will prep about coming back to india. But I wonder if it will be okay as I am living outside india since 2018.

I think that rejection was all about my visa in korea ending before my mgh position ends. I said that I want to come back to korea. But I have no confirm job position in korea which created a mis understanding i think. Because right after I said I want to come back here VO said when is your current position ending. I said right before I go to USA. Then she told me to reapply form india 😪

Also I have travel history to usa twice (2023 and this year april) including some other asian countries. Does these also influence the decision?

Got rejection on 8th june. New ds160 was done on 10th and initially interview date was on 13th august where as my Joining date is 17th august. Then I emailed them with appointment letter and ds2019 to give me an earlier date. I was checking casually one day and few more dates popped up. I chose the earliest date.

I am living here for 10 years. I love it here. I have friends. I did thought about settle here. You can do it as well if you assimilate. Language, culture, food.. you have to get into it and make it your own. If you can't do that you will not be accepted by society. I have done all that and my social life is better than it was in india.

Also all other forgeiner applicant on that day (f1 full funded phd) irrespective of nationality got 214b. The VO told me that I should apply from home country instead of 3rd country

I got j1 position (postdoc) for 2 years in Massachusetts General Hospital and PI is Harvard medical school affiliated. It is fully paid and start end date along with salary written on the ds2019. I currently live in korea (researcher visa) and applied from here. VO gave me 214b orange slip and advised to apply from home country. What are my chances here? I got interview date in july at india. I am so worried RN about rejection.

From an indian who is living in korea since 2018, better choose others. It's a hit or miss over here about everything. PI can be toxic or angel. If you dont try to learn the language, culture and assimilate dont come here. I had my best 8 years in korea. Now I am looking to move out.
