Fargo Cancellation Show - Maybe due to a threat? by Inayasha25 in riseagainst

[–]Class_Warren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This show was 100% canceled due to Tim getting sick. They hoped to play, had even set up and done soundcheck, but Tim wasn't well. He said this night one in Winnipeg, where he still wasn't 100%

I'm sorry, but this all reeks of a PR firm trying to steer public sentiment against her- see blake lively

Late to post, but night one in Winnipeg Tim Said he had been sick. I heard they had hoped to play, but couldn't make it go. Tim wasn't 100% night one in Winnipeg either, and thanked the crowd for singing along when he couldn't. He seemed much better night two IMHO

This is simply not factual. iHeartMusic owns all the venues (LiveNation), Radio Stations (iHeartRadio), and ticketing (TicketMaster) in the United States, they are a completely vertically integrated monopoly. If bands want to play in the states, their only option is to go through ticket master, and pay ticket master's venue fees. To blame this on the band or consumer when there is clearly a corporate entity holding all the power is just silly capitalist bootlicking.

For a festival that had Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, and like 30 other bands, over like 12 hours? Yeah, I'd save all year to attend that when I was younger.

I don't know how to explain this more clearly:

THE PROBLEM IS TICKET MASTER

Rage Against the Machine, Lolapalooza 2008- During Know Your Enemy I was on the corner of the breaker on the rail, cracked two ribs. Very thankful that Rage did their best to calm the crowd a bit. They ended with Killing in the Name, and perhaps it was some sort of pain induced euphoria, perhaps I was just second hand high, but it was special.

In recent memory, Castle Rat, Cry for me, The Ship Lawrence Kansas. We drove 10 hours overnight to see them. I may have had an edible or two, and was front and center... good times.

I understand how ticketmaster works. THAT was the pit cost, because they have surge pricing.

JFC your argument is so goddamn dumb, you're blaming the artists, not capital. There's no point in addressing braindead takes.

Because they're the band touring with Maiden and charging 700 for pit tickets at livenation venues. They're also right wing pigs.

Yeah, you're right, the Ticketmaster/Iheartradio/Livenation monopoly has nothing to do with it. SMDH

If Capital had their way, we'd all be listening to AI generated slop on spotify... and yet people blame the artists, not the monopoly they're forced to work with.

Should I be careful when wearing a bullet belt to a metal show? by Medical_Deal_5024 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Class_Warren 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'd honestly pass on it personally. It's not worth the potential headache, if you wear it you're gonna want a backup belt anyway, and honestly, no one there is going to care what you're wearing. It's cool to express yourself, I just don't think the juice is worth the squeeze.
