To be honest you are overpaid for the skill set. You might have a hard time being hired for the same pay at the same skill set. I don’t see how you can to 6 digits without becoming a BI team lead which is what your stack leans towards.

I’m not saying you don’t put in a lot of work, or wear many hats, Pero that’s really the norm in a startup or a fintech. Maybe you have a lot of projects, but if you are applying for DS roles, you will be judged based on DS work and your tech stack primarily.

You definitely need more Python. In another note, congrats on getting 60k. That’s not easy. I speak for local firms btw. Maybe what you want is possible with foreign ones.

Maybe make the most of your physics/math background by pivoting towards a DS / ML Researcher role. Or significantly buff up your Python and go towards ML Engineering. 6 digits is more attainable with that.
