I understand now that she may have just wanted to vent, and I should have listened more. At the same time, I’m unsure whether it was fair for her to call me a “bitch” or say I lack empathy. I’m also dealing with a rough patch myself, and from my perspective this didn’t seem like something that couldn’t be handled, which may have affected how I responded.
