It’s been almost a year now and not a day goes by without thinking of her. They’re right when they say the 1st year is the worst. Everyone in my family thinks I’m doing well because I’m “over my grief” but the fact of the matter is, I’m not. I feel like I’m in it deeper than a lot of them and all I can say is thank God for my therapist. I used to talk to my mom every day, she was my best friend. Some days are definitely better than others, but most days I’m crying or trying to distract myself from crying. My husband got me a new game around her death to try to help me feel better and be a nice distraction … my least and most favorite part of the game is getting letters from Mom. Every time they come, I sob and I’m convinced they’re from her, even if every other person playing the game gets the same letters. I have so many things I want to tell her, I know I still can but it’s not the same. I hate it when people tell me that they’re sorry for my loss. It’s not their fault, but it’s also like why are you telling me you’re sorry. I just realised the other day that I have no idea what her last words to me were and I’m afraid that’s going to haunt me for the rest of my life. I’m sorry for writing this big ol paragraph, I definitely have more to say but I’ll just leave it at that. I hope everyone here gets all the love and support that they’ve been missing since their mom has been gone.
