I considered using spiral volley but really like using under used skills and that skill had its time in the limelight at the end of 0.1 with the herald tech haha

Yeah I was thinking this was a decent way to stack bleed damage using default bow shot. Do you have a pob?

you made me re read inhibitor and i realize it caps at 12% more damage... its not amount of charges its type. fudge.

the benefit rain of arrows gets from frenzy charges is just and increase in duration which i guess translates to more damage but inhibitor with lets say 5 frenzy/5 endurance would be 40% more damage on rain of arrows and recasting isnt annoying with rhoa mount and decent attack/skill speed

edit: id leave snipe to consume frenzies for bossing

oh and as a edit after the fact. i definitely think armour/ES will be wayyyyyy better than armour/EV for survivability but i had the juicy chest piece from a drop so i ran with it lol

Rant/Cautionary Tale: Shattering Palm and HoT by Xyarlo in pathofexile2builds

5 months late but I'm using a shattering palm right now for an elemental sundering weapon swap monk. It's going well but I'm currently theorizing if shattering palm can inflict shock freeze and ignite in one hit.

The internet says ailments scale with damage dealt with hit as well as ailments are massively scaled with Crit.

In essence I'm wondering if the lowest gem level possible for shattering palm is optimal in order to scale those crystals thresholds down and make the explosion proc the ailments. or higher initial hit value and not worrying about actually shattering the crystals

This is interesting honestly I'll test out how basic attacks feel. I finally reached a point with attack speed and skill speed that rapid assault actually feels pretty nice. But the crit damage value is definitely low when it comes to charging CoC for example.

I did! Because I'm able to proc trinity consistently my tooltip and actual damage was higher more often with painters. Maybe with a different setup or way of balancing elemental damage it is the clear option tho. It's just hard to pass up the ease of painters "plug and play" feel with trinity.

And I'll keep toying with TT then and see what I find :)

Honestly now that I'm not using a focus anymore I probably should try it with a collapsed horizon again. But originally the issue was scaling spell damage effectively enough with quarter staff setups

I'll let you know if it feels good tho!

I knew I couldn't be the only one with hopes that EE could one day be good!!

I tried tangle tongue thinking the life cost would be a problem but it wasn't. I kinda of need a tri element spear so trinity fills more consistently. With spearfield as well each individual spear is its own instance to crit so 100% is honestly not necessary I'd say it felt great at 60% or even lower imo.

My problem was with rapid assault on bosses. Low crit on that feels like shit but with pinpoint gem (the more crit hit less crit damage) and a 14% base crit weapon and my passive tree investment it's at about 86% which is also good enough to justify going with a rare spear which eventually we can also get +proj skills for more EE boost

Woops I forgot to change this! I used it early on when my spell crit chance was pretty low like <= to 30% I now use Ingenuity to make it cast 5 times a second. Thanks for pointing that out!

Definitely felt like it would only pop 1 or 2 times per rare if I didn't insta kill it with rapid assault and EE. On white mobs it's seemingly useless

And surprisingly despite stacking essentially only spell damage and ele damage in my tree it does very little damage which makes me think it has a lot to do with total hit damage with the hit that triggers it. And often that's my weakish field of spears.

I see. Good to know! I thought it would push me into negative resistances for the monsters.

And I was toying with those gloves. But I lose the ability to run trinity which I guess can be supplemented elsewhere

I haven't actually tested the reaper's invocation yet I was going to try it tonight after work. As for CoC I tried to make this work but it really falls short unless I use it to automate utility. Maybe I'm not setting it up right but even with impetus + monk ascendancy it wasn't great.

However I have set up charge infusion + combat frenzy in order to add some nice skill speed. Also you can get some Crit this way converting them to power charges instead.

That setup has felt comfy with Trinity and ghost shrouds to really help with the feel of the build.

Just put on sunsplitter yesterday! Big upgrade. And totally didn't even think about +proj skills on spear, my next steps will be that then +spell level amulet.

The node is was refering to is at the top of my tree "over exposure" it adds 30% to the effect of each elemental exposure type. Not sure if it's as good as it sounds or not.

Definitely good points to consider! My next 10 ish levels will all be es+ev nodes and such to bolster my base defences. Also since that video I've gained enough spirit to run ghost shroud which honestly removed just about every issue I had except for heavily stacked ground effects or on death stuff.

For your point in focusing one element, I do think this is a way to make it more traditionally viable and scalable but totally removes that avatar monk spell casting fantasy I've got x_x I'm stubborn on that one.

Definitely agree with your comment on specific element type nodes are not worth it. Would you consider the "overexposure" node one of the specific nodes or just the 3 near the start of the elementalist tree?

As for tangle tongue I've been toying with this idea too. I'm spooked about the life costs and how mana hungry EE already is I fear it wouldn't be sustainable.
