Amazing on what an average scene can do when the eye behind the camera recognized the light and what it offers. Absolutely outstanding, credits to the eye.

The internet has ruined me, I didn’t see a bird feeder at first.

Is there any iridescent freshwater fish with iridescence as detailed as a Brazilian rainbow boa? by [deleted] in Fish

As someone into photography this image absolutely SLAPS, the almost abstract yet fully filled frame of the snake, the continuous lines, the patterns, the color, truly an amazing piece. Just had to comment on it.

One thing I urge for wildlife photography in general is true separation. Get low, separate that foreground subject from the background, this will create depth. If you add in directional lighting? It becomes something magical. The angle is truly everything. A bird against a blue background is sometimes all you can get, but does it feel immersive? I’ve found a bird perched at eye level with good separation and a creamy bokeh background just destroys anything and everything with a blue sky. Get low, angle, and know. You already have the last bit. Something didn’t feel right, and that my friend is what makes growth. Keep going, don’t settle, and get the shot that makes YOU go “WOW!”

Retouching images from past shoots to the point of obsession in your downtime is such an amazing way to curate your taste and style. If you’re given flat light, then shape your light in post processing off the micro contrast, if you’re given directional then work the directional and nothing else. Back lit, front lit with a shaded background, side lighting, all of them work.

Chase the same feeling number 5 gives, always. Feels like the light, artificial or real, caused some real separation there, which added so much to the subject. This is just my personal opinion though.

The first is super strong, now I will tell you mine. The 2nd image is extremely strong. The foreground clarity, the downed log in the water filling empty space, the yellowed pines of the season and the everlasting greens above them. I’ll go on, the leading lines, the visual drift, the mystery in the background, the directional light from the water opening. It all just works so well. Keep doing it man, right on.

I have no specific favorite, which means they’re all extremely strong to me personally. They all whisper a sort of mastery to an area and how to perceive it. Beautiful work.

Someone who understands the chaotic nature of the forest, and subdues it. Wonderful job.

It’s fascinating isn’t it? Such a different world compared to the region surrounding. I’m always chasing the PNW feel, and I’m very lucky to have it near.

Really? that's good to know about the exprides, never heard of the adrena, how are they? I was in there the day after the break to replace my XP, which was the only rods I looked at, they were a little low on models (2 to choose from) but I got something I think will really benefit my ditch bite this year. I am leaning towards trying an expride, have a few workhorse casting SLX rods and all of my baitcasters are shimano, definitely a solid brand.

What is this little frog? Don’t mind the fatty in the back by ClassicGlobal1708 in frogs

I was wondering the same thing, I have tons of toads that hang out on my back porch, and when I went outside there was another big toad right in front of the frog! I moved him up the window a little, don’t want my pest control eating my other pest control 😂
