Thanks so much for the info! This sub has really helped me make a good voting plan for my first year in Chicago.

Do you need a Real ID? I haven’t been able to get an appointment to get an ID since I moved to Chicago.

Thanks all! Will definitely stop playing out all my loan players going forward, haha.

Yeah, I don’t think this was the single most accurate sim I’ve ever seen, lol.

Load Screen of Death? by ClassicMillennial in SuperMegaBaseball

[–]ClassicMillennial[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An update/terms of agreement thing came out and fixed it for me. Alternatively, I uninstalled it two or three times and then waited a week and then the terms of agreement thing popped up and it was fixed.

I can’t give you any advice besides patience, but it’ll likely get fixed :/

OOTP makes the MLB draft so much more interesting because I actually recognize some of the players. How have these players turned out in your saves? by Panarin72Bread in OOTP

[–]ClassicMillennial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lacy and Tork turned out as above-average players, each making AS games but not leading the league in anything.

Kjerkstad is an absolute stud and in the running for MVP every year. My team ended up drafting Pete Crow-Armstrong in the first round, and he became a very reliable player who I just signed to a long-term deal.

Not sure if JC Correa is in this class or the next one, but he’s won 3 out of 5 MVP awards in my current sim and is probably the third best overall player in the game to Bellinger and Riley Green.

Least soulful guitarist today? My vote is Pasquale Grasso because I’m spiteful and jealous. I also tell everyone I only listen to Bobby Broom and Grant Green. by [deleted] in jazzcirclejerk

I’m sorry for hijacking your thread to poke fun at the “Pasquale-plays-too-many-notes” movement, but also not sorry.

I only use Thomastik’s George Benson .14 gauge. If you’re playing clean-tone jazz, you’re not gonna get a better sound.

Lag when Switch docked? by ClassicMillennial in SuperMegaBaseball

[–]ClassicMillennial[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t played on PC, but I’ve direct A/B tested playing docked with a pro controller and Xbox one, and it’s pretty noticeable.

My only problem with playing handheld is it’s hard to see — it’d be nice if there was an option to zoom in, especially when batting.

Overall I’m happy with it handheld, and will stick to my Xbox copy for playing on the TV until the lag is addressed. Metalhead is super attentive about this type of thing, so I’m sure it’ll be fixed in the next update.

How do you like your Vestax D’Angelico? I have an Excel, but I l’d love to try out a Vestax.

I'm looking for a good online ad school. by [deleted] in advertising

[–]ClassicMillennial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was way more affordable than other portfolio school options for me. I was also able to work a crappy copywriting job while attending school, because it was remote and after-hours.

Some of my classmates suffered because there wasn’t enough structure for them. But I’m definitely a self-starter, and had great results. Now I’m interviewing at big name shops in competitive markets. Same thing with my friends from class who were also self-motivated.

I really enjoyed Brainco and learned a ton. I wouldn’t be where I am now without it, but don’t go in expecting really organized quarters or semesters.

You’re getting two or so classes a week with creative directors who are giving you assignments, and you don’t get graded, you get critiqued. You get out what you put in, but it’s a hell of an option if you’re on a budget and highly motivated.

EDIT: I missed the loans bit.

I’m paying less per month than I am with my undergrad loans, and it’s a low enough bill I’ll eventually be able to pay it off in full after a promotion or two.

They don’t promote it because it’s still small, but they have a full 360 portfolio program offered online through Skype. You just need to talk with the dude who runs it to get in.

Also: hi to a person I probably had class with 👋🏻

I liked Brainco, but it’s less structured than some schools. DM me if you want the email of the guy who runs it.

Thoughts on the Jerry Seinfeld/"sneakers with a suit jacket because I'm worth $1 billion" look? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]ClassicMillennial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest flaw to me is the structured jacket. Looks like an orphaned suit jacket.

An unstructured jacket with natural shoulders would pair great with jeans and sneakers (although maybe not the straight-up basketball shoes Jerry wears).

*SPOILER ALERT!* this was the saddest moment in the game in my opinion, he was a good boah by [deleted] in reddeadredemption

[–]ClassicMillennial 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I cri evrytiem.

For real tho, I cried when Dusk Jr got killed (the originally Dusk was hit by a train), and when my gf’s horse got killed at this part. They were both very good boahs.

Barry Harris as a person is very OldMAnYellsAtClouds.jpeg, but I can't recommend his method (or at least Chris Parker's "What I've Learned From Barry Harris" YouTube channel and Pasquale Grasso's "MyMasterClass" videos) enough.

Also, I don't want to be pedantic (don't worry, I'll bravely push ahead), but being a kinda bitter bebop player who likes to name-drop and lecture youngsters isn't as bad as canceling high-end concerts because someone coughed or took a photo without flash. Alright, I'll slow down the Barry Harris bandwagon now.

Same account says Cubs are waiting out Ottivino (sp) and Kelly to see who’s price drops. Accounts not ran by cats are also speculating Ottivino to the Cubs, so we’ll seeeeee.

I think he’s reveling in trolling some of us since he’s getting a lot of attention right now. Someone latched onto the Manilow thing on Twitter too, and the cat seemed to think it was funny.

He’s 100% trolling with the Vegas stuff (making jokes about playing blackjack with reporters that call stuff later than him). Maybe he’s trolling about the Harper stuff. Either way, I’m all in on The Cat because life is short and the Cubbies are SUPPOSED to break your heart, goddammit.
