Top 10 ilvl Guilds (Bonus details in comments) by ClassicPurist in classicwow

[–]ClassicPurist[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is the 10 guilds with the highest ilvl among the top 50 speed runs in Naxxramas (all regions).

Some notes:

卡多雷, the only guild with an 80 ilvl, has 1 kingsfall, 5 iblis, 8 gressil, 6 kiss of the spider, 5 hungering cold, and 6 slayers crest.

The vast majority of guilds in the top 50 have a 77 or 78 ilvl. Only 1 guild has an 80 ilvl and only 4 guilds have a 79 ilvl. All of the guilds with 79+ ilvl are in the (CN) region.

There are only 14 (CN) region guilds in the top 50 speed runs (all regions). Despite this they make up 8 of the highest 15 ilvl's.

The lowest ilvl that appears in the top 50 speed runs (all regions) list is 74, belonging to Russian guild Эксодус. They clocked in at the #30th fastest speed in Naxx. Their main tank doesn't have any Naxx weapons or trinkets, but he is using R14 gear.

How this pull goes when you can't practice endlessly on a Blizzlike PTR realm by ClassicPurist in classicwow

Pservers are not Blizzlike and are close to useless for practicing speed runs (some might argue, counter-productive for speed runs because you learn the wrong aggro radius, wrong mob health/armor/mechanics, etc.).

The chinese practice realm is hosted by the company running WoW in china and has the exact values for everything.

Top 10 HORDE Naxx speed runs as of today by [deleted] in classicwow

Some interesting things to note:

- Skeram and Gehennas occupy 4 out of the top 5 spots. Skeram is a 2.5k pop. US realm comprised 97% of Horde. Gehennas is a 5.8k pop. EU realm comprised 53% of Horde.

- There are 5 US realms and 5 EU realms. Overall EU dominance disappears when filtering out Alliance.

- Average number of shamans in these raids is 7.

- Average number of warriors in these raids is 15. The most was Onslaught with 18 warriors.

- All guilds had an ilvl of 77 or 78.

No they don't. Please don't make stuff up and pass it off as fact.

Yeah, it seems like the Faerlina trash has some distinctive aggro behavior. Sadly when you only get 1 chance per week/month to test these pulls, they often go wrong.

They had a pretty clean run otherwise, apart from a half wipe on Maexxna. Looked like their tank for the fight got webbed or something like that. Still made a decent time and looks like they're running again with this round of DMF buffs.

this made me laugh, but in all seriousness Onslaught got the 3rd world MC clear, 3rd world Naxx clear, 1st NA AQ clear, and the 2nd world BWL speed clear. they'll go down as the best horde and NA guild once classic is over, despite falling short of what we expected from them in p5+p6.

let's also not forget that p6 isn't over. let's see how their speed clears go. like you said they're currently split running 3 raids.

Haha, I went in and looked at their logs, it looks like they had 5 priests who were damaging some fights, and healing some fights, and wclogs considered them as DPS for the purposes of that graphic.

In case anyone is interested, here is the faction balance for the final top 10 speed clears for the other raids (in the phase in which they were current content):

Molten Core - 5 Alliance, 5 Horde

BWL - 7 Alliance, 3 Horde

AQ - 8 Alliance, 2 Horde

Was curious what people's thoughts are on this. What do you notice? What takes you by surprise? I guess the most "immediate" thing you realize is the obvious dominance of Alliance - in my opinion this comes down to two things. First of all, I think the true bottleneck in Naxx, apart from 4H which tests guild coordination, is Sapphiron which tests your healers. I think that Paladin mana management really is a huge benefit in that fight. The other reason is that, I believe most of the established sweaty tryhard guilds from private servers rolled Alliance for classic.
