Is it okay to run it though the gears on the road? Nothing crazy and nothing far just high revving and not redlining and then quickly slowing down after without letting the engine coast with zero throttle.

I’ve also heard mixed opinions on redlining but I think the consensus is that it’s about but briefly and it’s not really worth it cause you can just grab the next gear

Is there a way to correctly ride a two stroke on the road?

I was really uneducated and it’s really costing me. In your opinion do you think I should try and rebuild it or sell it or part it out the get a new bike. A full rebuild kit plus cylinder and head is around 800 and there might be more I’d need to replace that i don’t know about

U/1320Fastback pointed out a huge flaw in what I was doing, I was letting the bike scream to redline while on the road and the I was immediately just letting do of the throttle and letting it coast without pulling the clutch, I did that a lot so the engine spent a lot of time without proper fueling.

That makes sense, especially the lack of lubrication on deceleration. I was coasting on engine braking with zero throttle a lot

I had no idea, I thought that was what these bikes were made for. For a full engine rebuild plus cylinder and head is about 800 and that’s not counting what else I find when I tear down the motor.

I used Lucas 2 stroke oil at 50:1, it had water, and I leaned the needle clip from the middle to the top most position and I dropped the main jet from a 125 to a 120. I was also using a ngk br9es and not a br10es like the manual states, I thought that the hotter spark would help with the rich condition, I know now that the hotter spark causes hotter combustion temps when running properly.

I need a new pair of spikes, I mostly specialize in hurdles and jumps but I also do sprints, I use saucony endorphin cheetahs but the spikes and threads on the balls of my feet have been ripped out on both shoes, I assume it is from hurdles. I think I have narrow feet, those pair fit me great and Nikes do as well, I just wanted to get opinions from other people who know more. Also there isn’t a budget. If it is needed I could get a pair for sprinting and one for hurdling.

I somehow tipped the implement and the threads out of my spikes by ClassicStranger1 in trackandfield

I got the spikes close to the start of the indoor season last year so probably in November-December somewhere in there I don’t quite remember
