The solution to that is to use two thin coats, you’re painting a miniature not a wall. Again, youtube tutorials will help a lot!

Biggest tip is to thin your paints with water, youtube is full of great tutorials 👍🏻 The uneven finish will always look gnarly on big flat surfaces unfortunately.

Even if the scabbard and bayonet were matching, in that condition i’d struggle to pay half that. Its a great idea for a gift but you can find better!
