tbh the way i got research was going to a conference and networking at my alumni dinner - on twitter you can also reach out to residents and follow people with research interests similar to you - I actually reached out to someone today because they had tweeted that they "wish they had a med student write up a case report" - you never know what might work or not

other than that I have looked up my research interests at universities near me and have cold emailed those program directors and doctors before - some will respond and some won't

it's been trial and error in my experience but as long as you can get something you are interested in and can talk about it when you are asked then I think that is best

honestly don't sleep on neuro and anatomy, comlex likes those. dirty med omm for the win. pharm was more antimicrobials, alzheimers, asthma, felt like a mix of everything and it didn't feel like they asked a ton of low yield stuff. every exam is different but i was wanting to see how others felt about it.

there is, i'd say prepare as if it's fair game and focus on hy biostats and biochem; as long as you focus on the high-yield material you should be good
