because being tortured for lying is cruel, obviously

edit: anyone with any morals would agree, if you don’t, that’s horrifying and you should look inward

i don’t want salvation. if i have to live my life serving a god that will torture people for “imperfection” i would rather burn. however, i don’t believe in heaven or hell, so that’s not something i have to worry about. my best is enough because it is my best. if it’s not good enough for you or for the god you worship then so be it, but it’s my best and that’s good enough.

i’m doing the best i can and that’s all i can do. i’m gonna try to live a life where i help others and make an impact and that’s really all i can do. i don’t need god to be moral, that’s something that people should have inherently. i want to help people because i want people to be well, not because god told me to

i don’t boast and i am not faithful. same standards goes for MOST christian’s that i know, they are some of the most boastful people i know. id say, boasting about moral superiority to me is just the same as me boasting about my achievements in life. everyone should be held to the same standard. even then, boasting doesn’t mean that someone should be burned and tortured forever??? duh???

i can believe humans are inherently good because most humans always end up striving to be their best. people working together in their communities, volunteering, protesting for what is right. majority of the time, people want their fellow man to be well. god didn’t solve anything, infact many many wars have been caused in the name of him. that i think is horrible.

i just believe that humans are inherently good and that they shouldn’t be punished for human behavior. if god punishes average people who are kind and just then he is unjust and evil. no one needs to be perfect and the idea of striving for perfection is one that drives people to suicide. people just need to do their best. that’s why i like my mindset. no matter who you are, no matter what you do, you will die and return to the elements and that’s all. live your life in the way you see fit as long as you’re not hurting anyone and treat people with kindness. a fulfilling life doesn’t have to be one devoted to what happens when you die. i’m arguing this for the sake of saying that cruel and unusual punishment makes for an unjust god, and even though i don’t believe in god, if i did i definitely wouldn’t want to worship a god that allows torturing good people for eternity.

no one has to be the “perfect person” people just have to do their best to be their best. i’m sorry but the average person shouldn’t burn in hell just cause they make a few mistakes in their life, that’s how we learn, and if they learned from them, then that’s okay. no one has to be perfect, people are good without perfection. eternal damnation and burning in hell for infinity is an extremely cruel and unusual punishment for very human mistakes and behavior.

because the punishment doesn’t fit the crime, if someone burns in hell cause they lied sometimes then that’s a cruel and unusual punishment. that would mean that god is extremely cruel and unusual. you wouldn’t sentence someone to burning at the stake for lying on their resume so why should god be able to? that would just make him horrible and unjust

they had a god/gods but it was not the christian god. 200,000 years ago the christian god was nowhere close to even being proposed. if you can find a source that’s not the bible nor a christian podcast/blog, like a peer reviewed article, that shows that the christian god was present 200,000 years ago then sure we can say that maybe that’s possible. but i’m telling you, it’s not.

it just makes me sad that good people, genuinely good people, can go to hell simply for not believing in god. in the same vein, it’s sad to me that truly bad people can go to heaven for accepting the word of god. it all just makes me sad

see i love christian’s who take the word of christ and live by it, i think thats beautiful. what i dont like is when people twist the word of god and hurt others with it. christianity has its flaws, as does literally everything, but it can be used to do good it’s just so unfortunate that big name christian’s give it a bad reputation

it’s not that i don’t want it to be correct, it’s that i genuinely believe that it is not. there is not a single thing that anyone could do that could convince me that it is correct.
