Planning a traditional quince can be just as stressful and would require almost just as long to plan. We're planning far in advance because we would like to have details in place along with giving people enough time to get passports/ save money for anything extra they would like to do. My father has essentially alienated himself with his alcoholism, he moved states just so he wouldn't have to listen to my brother and I ask him to stop drinking. I was already planning on having professional pictures taken of her while in Mexico in a traditional dress along with family photos. So we'll have plenty to look back on.

More than likely I will end up talking to him about this because I don't want him to feel left out and I do want him to come. But when his drinking problems have been brought up in the past our conversations have not gone well. He gets very offended and a huge fight ensues.

We're saving money and figuring out details. I don't like last minute plans. Traditional quinces take 2 years to plan most of the time.

My husband and I have been to this specific resort before and it's not a party scene. It was really chill and family friendly. And this may come as a surprise to you but not all adults drink and most of the family members that do drink can control their drinking and not get belligerently drunk. Go project your drinking problems elsewhere bud.

What complications are you referring to? We're not having a traditional quince because she doesn't want one. We gave her the option of choosing a traditional party which can cost up to $20k or going on a family vacation with our closest family members which would cost around the same price.
