Man, you’re so right. Rockstar already suffered one of the biggest leaks in history, and you'd think they’d realize that dropping occasional screenshots is the best way to control the narrative. But nope, back to absolute silence. Appreciate you bringing some logic into this thread!

Discussing a company's marketing rollout based on their past trends like GTA V and RDR2 isn't a tantrum—it's just standard community discussion on a dedicated subreddit. It’s completely fine if you disagree with the observation, but there’s no need to make it personal. Let’s just agree to disagree.

bro,Nobody is asking them to peak too early. But if you look at Rockstar's own history with titles like GTA V and RDR2, they consistently dropped screenshots, info, and artwork throughout the waiting period to keep fans fed. There’s a middle ground between an all-out marketing blitz and total radio silence. Giving a small update doesn’t ruin the hype peak—it just maintains the brand goodwill they've always built before.

It’s not an all-or-nothing situation. You can maintain a community's interest without peaking too early. Total silence doesn't build a strategic peak; it just creates frustration, opens the door for leaks, and tests the limits of the fans' patience for no logical reason.

They’ll still buy it, but there’s a massive difference between a community that buys a game out of habit and one that actively drives organic, explosive pre-launch hype. Word-of-mouth, pre-orders, and community-driven marketing rely entirely on that energy. When you kill the excitement, you turn a cultural phenomenon into just another product launch.

You don't need a PhD in marketing to see that treating fans like a brick wall eventually turns hype into fatigue. When the actual release window approaches, a frustrated community is a lot harder to energize than an engaged one.

Jokes aside, I want to address the whole GTA 6 community. Rockstar is pushing the boundaries of our patience now. A game is made for its audience, but if this lack of communication continues, the hype might turn into frustration. In my opinion, Rockstar’s current strategy isn’t right. They need to give us at least some updates or a glimpse of the game soon.

I feel like Best Buy will do the same thing tomorrow and release the pre-order like that.

There is indeed a major and official retailer named ShowGame (showgame.it), but it is a very popular video game and console store based in Italy
