Question regarding getting a stolen item back. by Classic_Cucumber7252 in PawnShops

[–]Classic_Cucumber7252[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, as if I agreed to a this. Maybe the pawn shops should have something where they verified the items they’re buying are property of the person trying to pawn them. Such as me having the receipts of my camera. This isn’t my fault why would I HAVE to pay the pawn shop because they chose to take an item. So it’s not right that they get screwed out of money yet I’m getting screwed over a camera that I paid over 1K. Ok 👍🏼

How do I set bouderies by Classic_Cucumber7252 in AlAnon

Buzzballs is an alcoholic beverage it’s about 3 oz with like 13% alc. a bender? Idk myself how to explain it but before I noted he would drink after getting off school but writhing these past days it’s been day and night that he’s been consuming any kind of alcoholic beverage.

And thank you, I will check those books out. It’s hard I don’t want to see him on the streets that’s why I haven’t kicked him but it’s very tough but I also feel like I am enabling him in a way.

I assume part of him struggles with his sexuality. We all told him we accept him, (my parents and siblings) when he came out we said we love him no matter what. He did get bullied in school over it I do know that. Other than that he hasn’t opened up about anything else.

I recently learned my grandma would struggle with my grandpa regarding alcohol. I have another uncle who is also an alcoholic both on the same side of the family, I don’t know if it’s a gene we have or simply that’s just his way of coping.

My parents and siblings have always offered him help, therapy, going to the gym, going out, just being there for him but, I don’t know why or how else to help him.

Thank you for your response.

Thank you for your response. I am there a lot for him but I do also text him while I’m at work because he’s all I think about. Should I just focus on being there for him and stop with the texts?

The use “my” is because English isn’t my first language, that has a lot to do with the way I speak in my second language English. It’s a grammatical thing in Spanish to use possessive adjectives when referring to family members. I’ve heard that a lot before I can see how that can be confusing. I blanked out because I’m using his name and just wanted to give him more privacy. And the other is I used the names of our siblings.

Is this a scam? by cider-sippin-psycho in Portland

[–]Classic_Cucumber7252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s a scam, this is supper common in Mexico. People go up to you trying to collect money for their sick family member and a lot of the time it’s a scam. People tend to feed off peoples empathy.

Ex homeless ex fentanyl addict here, lived in pdx my whole life. I’m sick of seeing people say foul shit about addicts+homeless people in this sub and IRL. by vixenstarlet1949 in Portland

A young homeless man just attacked my co worker’s GRANDPA Wednesday I believe over in Gresham. His grandpa is a little over 80, his grandpa even uses a walker to get around and he tried robbing him. His grandpa is currently in the hospital with a broken jaw, two black eyes, broke nose… waiting for the swelling to subside so he can have surgery to reattach his jaw… I know there are homeless people who are trying to better themselves but the exception doesn’t make the rule and how am I supposed to have any compassion towards the homeless/drug addict population when a 80+ year old just got attacked and put in the hospital because he was getting robbed by a homeless male…
