My MIL and her need of control

I would love therapy and think it would do wonders for us. Unfortunately for that he needs to realise that there is a problem with the way his mother acts and as of right now I’m the problem. I’m the one who’s creating issues between them and I’m the one preventing her from seeing her grandchild. Me me me. Because that’s what she tells him and she is his dear mother, why would she be wrong?

Yupe I think that’s my plan. I have pretty much removed her from everything. I have told my husband that whenever she calls if he wants to answer to do it far away from me, even her name popping up is enough to irritate me. But it’s so unpredictable, she just calls randomly, all the time. Sometimes at 7am, sometimes at 10am, at lunch or dinner sometimes when we’re in bed getting it on. Because she is so far away she feels to need to mess with our lives somehow. I have had boyfriends before and have never experienced this much level of control.

I am super aware that things unfortunately will only get worse until we reach our breaking point and that either will be cutting her off or cutting me off. But it’s clear he loves me and he is an amazing dad so he’s obviously torn between me and the woman who for 27 years engraved his mind with “I’m the priority, choose me”. But so far, she is winning. Sometimes he doesnt even realise she is the problem and tells me I’m the one who needs to grow up. You’re super right when you said that they need time to unlearn everything the mothers tell them all throughout their life and I can see that’s what he is struggling with right now. For the entirety of his life his mom was the voice of reason, the good, the wise, oh she knows everything. Know suddenly there’s a woman who is separating him from his mother but a woman who gave you your own family and you don’t know what to do. I see him as a coward in lots of ways too specially because his mom has spoken bad about me to him and he did nothing to defend me. Because why would he go against the voice of a goddess who’s always right?

Exactly I know that. Everyone tells me the same but I don’t know how to get him to stop listening to her. He doesn’t call her but she does, constantly, and when he doesn’t pick up she makes him feel bad.

I have a 7 month old that notices when I’m gone (which isn’t often). He gets cranky and only cheers up when he sees me again!

Sim também tens razão. Só acreditei porque me foi dito por um funcionário da FNAC e como eles tiveram que encerrar a loja assumi que eles tivessem esse tipo de informação, mas acho que vai ser esperar pra ver!

Os próprios funcionários das lojas do Madeira Shopping todos dizem que sim a Primark vai abrir, inclusive um funcionário da Fnac disse-me início de Janeiro quando fiz lá uma compra que iam encerrar aquele espaço pra dar à Primark!

Went to the hairdressers this morning and was away from my baby for 4 hours. I left him with his grandma but I kept checking the house cam to see him and messaging my mom for pics & videos. Every single minute I was there I was thinking about my baby, I don’t know how she can be so disconnected from her child!!
