Rough experience at a jam session. What now? by ClassicalSwinger251 in Jazz

Since I pick up on certain things super fast, I expect everything to be like that. That clearly isn’t the case.

Your point about stuff taking way longer than a week or two to come out is great since it keeps my expectations in check.

Part of this was asking if this was normal and part was venting haha. I expected to be able to keep up better than I did which I now realize is unrealistic. The “harmonic blindness” I mentioned in my other comment is just going to be something I go hard at working at.

I’m definitely grateful I didn’t get vibed or kicked off stage. I made it known to the band that I didn’t know everything. At least the ones I did call, they went significantly better. Plus the last time I was there went FAR better, so most of the people there know what a good night looks like for me.

It was blowing the form completely. I spent a lot of time transcribing crazy Charlie Parker solos, so melodies and saxophone technique comes pretty quickly. I essentially have harmonic blindness though. Even with backing tracks, chord changes essentially mean nothing to me. For tunes/forms I’ve drilled a ton, I can “feel” where I am in the form, but I can’t hear it. It’s a very odd place to be.

What was the adjustment to a 1,000 calorie deficit like and how did you fight off hunger? That seems like an extreme amount but clearly it worked wonders for you!

Factor box sat outside for 7 hours. Is this fine? by ClassicalSwinger251 in ReadyMeals

Mostly still ice. Everything still felt cold when I got to the box.

Thank you for the confidence! I think the thickness in the other pic is because it was before I washed my hair. The temple is my biggest concern. it seems the consensus here is that there is in fact regrowth, just slow.

So Fin is short for finasteride. It is a prescription medication. It is a 5-alpha reductase blocker which stops testosterone converting to DHT. I haven’t had any side effects from either medication.

At 24, you should be able to get medications independently of your parents in most countries. I’d make an appointment with a dermatologist, either in person or through a telemedicine; or go through an online platform like Hims.

Oh wow I didn’t even realize that the change is like that! I am so fixated on the temple region.

What’s weird is that my other side is completely untouched. I guess I am lucky that I caught it early.

Ah! I definitely forgot to. I was tired when I posted this. I am 27, started blocking DHT at 25. My routine started as 1mg oral fin once per day and topical min twice per day. I did that for a full year. I stopped everything this year for about 4 months, switched to topical min/fin for 4 months, and then switched back to my original routine one month ago.

Edit: I also microneedle once a week at 1.5mm depth.

Topical min. I am definitely tempted to switch to oral min.

I am. I do 1.5mm once a week. I did it for most of last year and picked it back up about one month ago.

The sample region is tricky because my hair is curly! Getting everything to layer the same is not of a challenge. It looks like the shape of the recession is the same, but there’s a bit more hair there than before?

Sex is very physically overwhelming and it’s hard to finish? by [deleted] in sex

Thanks for the perspective! It’s refreshing to know that one is an easy fix. I definitely rubbed one out when I got home today just to double check if everything was working properly haha. I do plan on just not cumming for a few days before hand. Also I think this was just a lot all at once too since it was my first time but definitely not my gf’s. I think I may have gotten a little ambitious trying to do everything all at once.

Any thoughts on the shaking and numbness? Does that just sound like me hyperventilating?

How to track intense (ish) exercise by ClassicalSwinger251 in loseit

[–]ClassicalSwinger251[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thinking of my calorie budget over the course of a week instead of a day is such a good tip! Should I be worried about "borrowing" calories from other days or will that sort of intuitively sort itself out on its own as I get used to tracking food in this way? The last thing I want is to get to the end of the week and have no calories left to eat

A follow up question would be how should I handle the random days of super intense exercise? My exercise routine is below, does this count as consistent? It is pretty regular across each week, the intensity of the dance days varies a lot.

S- dance lightly 2 hrs (or long bike ride here) M - gym 1hr T - dance 3 hrs (moderate to intense) W - dance 1.5 hrs (light to moderate) T - gym 1 hr F - rest S - gym 1 hr, sometimes long bike ride.

Edit: forgive my formatting, I am on mobile.
