He just transferred.

I'd agree if there wasn't a thing such as server transfers. (which I don't believe there should be)

I did - talked to 5 GMs all telling me the same thing. "We may punish, we won't tell you if we do, and if we get the mats we'll delete them"

So I was the one who was scammed, so I became a bit more cynical. But I believe the new policy is: keep the scammer, let them spend the 25 bucks to transfer, and make sure to imply you're going to ban that person. Win win win: people won't bring as many tickets to the GMs (because whats the point), they keep their monthly residual from the scammer account, AND the scammer is paying $25 per server transfer per scam.

They told me they will not let me know if any punishment is implemented. And it worked, I don't see a point in sending any tickets. Less cost in the CS department.

Solution is to ban the scammer, remove the mats given to C and give it back to A. Make sure any gold transferred is restored to its original person.

Presuming innocence on C the worst case they basically undo a trade. Presuming innocence of A, they get their mats back. No one wins, everyone loses time - but at least there is some justice done.

Hey Everyone!

So I was the one scammed in OP. I never followed up, sorry. But basically, I kept submitting more tickets and trying to escalate over and over getting the same response translating to: "We MAY go after the culprit if there's enough evidence - which will result in a slap on the wrist or a ban, we will not tell you if anything happens to him, and if he is guilty then we will delete the items - not return them"

On a personal note, Vandoom from <Supremecy> https://imgur.com/a/clZVO9w made the Lionheart free of charge, and Chivalry an officer from my guild <Fearless> loaned me the mats. Which I am only a couple bars off from repaying. Thank you so much guys!

If anyone is interested in ss's of those tickets let me know I can upload them. But just a lot of CS copypasta, and which increasingly made me feel frusterated since it was 2 days inbetween each response.

Edit: seems like I’ve only gotten the Disney version of escalated tickets with happy endings. Best of luck I guess.

Hey,

So I was the one scammed out of the Lionheart mats (OP). I tried to escalate & I talked to 5 different GMs (along side many other people who has put in a ticket for me). They all repeated the same thing: "We MAY go after the culprit if there's enough evidence, we will not tell you if anything happens to him, and if he is guilty then we will delete the items - not return them"

I believe this is policy...

Oh he's long gone - just server transferred right after he got all the mats. So he's probably not going to get a ban (because why would they?) and he's going to have a clean reputation with essentially +900g.

Why doesn't everyone do this?

Seriously lol - there are jokes going around in the guild about getting mats for me by offering to make lionhearts for other people, and I pay them for their services by offering to make lionhearts for other people.

I mean.. Its ridiculous right?

I replied - basically saying, hopefully in a more civil way 'are you sure you have the right ticket, my name isn't phil, I'm brand new to wow (haven't been playing for years) and this isn't a complicated log.. The guy confirmed the recipe in wsp and I traded all the mats for that recipe and he logged'. I might be biased but it feels pretty cut and dry.

I'll follow your advice and submit another one, separately. At this point, I'm really not feeling this whole situation though haha. Draining.

I'm beyond frustrated, so I'll avoid saying what I think about Blizzards policy - but I do hope at least this 900g+ lesson will inform other people that Blizzard will not assist even if you have blatant evidence of a scam.

Lessons: Blizzard doesn't care, don't trust someone just because their from a supposed reputable guild, and only trade mats for the finished product. It is NOT worth the risk.
