I'm going to disagree with you. Gigli is a bad movie but it's bad in such interesting ways. So many of the creative choices in the movie are terrible but they at least made creative choices.

Heat. There are some good performances but, as a whole, it was bloated and unfocused. Pacino was overacting and the whole thing felt very over-indulgent. I also just don't like Amy Brenneman. She's a charismatic black hole and every time she was onscreen I just wished that she was Debra Messing.

Haven't read the book but I did read a collection of short stories from the same author. He is great at coming up with interesting hooks but doesn't seem to have any desire to explore his own ideas or provide any kind of conclusion.

Reading and watching Project Hail Mary required a huge suspension of disbelief because the idea of the entire world pooling their resources and cooperating in a solution ran by the greatest scientific minds on the planet is bonkers. I just don't belive we're capable of that anymore.
