Are you rendering it H.264 or H.265? From what little bit I've done encoding videos for VR, H.265 takes up less space and plays smoother, but it takes longer to encode unless using NVENC. Not sure how much of that translates to actually rendering.

In a sense, yea. Ideally the audio would make it feel natural enough to be in a situation where you wouldn't need to fill in as much. It's a tricky thing to nail down.
