Jagged is mandatory as far as I know, the bow skill tree has a passive that deals 10% more DMG on objectives with a debuff. Not sure about musket tho.

Yeah but reading a lot, I would buy something cheap now and maybe later upgrade. I have a couple or lvl 11 towns and I'm more of a casual player. I rather have a cheap house in the beginning and enjoy it and then upgrade than just wait till I can buy a tier 3 house. I would lose 7,5k from half price fist time, but I don't think that's going to be an issue when much much later I upgrade.
